Just like everyone, when I entered into another year, I have plans for myself for the year. I look forward to smashing my goals and hoping to see all of them come to fruition.
However, three is a saying that man proposes and God disposes. God alone is the one whom I rest my hope on to make things work out
By the time the year is far gone, I should analyze my goals and see how I have fared at least in the last six months.
God forbid, if I find them not working out as planned, definitely it will break my heart.
That can already raise one"s BP 😅 but I know I am not in competition with anyone. So rather than stay down brooding over the failure, I would rise and try to fix things. These are what I would do.
LOOK FOR ERRORS AND REDRESS THEM
What went wrong? What have I not done well? Could it be that I didn't commit enough time into reaching the goals? Could it be that I set unrealistic goals that are somewhat not specific? For example, one of my goals for this year is to learn a language. Have I specified what exactly is the language? Languages are many, it could be a programming language; which one in particular? If a foreign language , have I identified the possibility and worked out modalities for attending the class? If many of these were lacking, then I need to reevaluate my goals and make them more specific.
FIND MENTORS
It would be important for me to maximize the remaining part of the year by swiftly looking for mentors who could guide me in areas I went solo or begin to see those who are thriving in that aspect of my goal( people who had similar goal). They could show me how and what they did to produce result.
START AGAIN
You don't deserve what you want but you create what you want. It doesn't matter how many times I need to start again , I would do it again and again until I get it right. I learnt the man who invented an electric lightbulb failed 1000 times before one eventually lit up. Today he is remembered for the invention and success he made, not for the many times he failed. Even if someone failed in his goals two months to the end of the year, with resilience and more smart work, he could still record success even at the eleventh hour. I will keep on trying , I do not know when it can be my chance to smash the goals and succeed.
ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER
This person can be there to always charge me up, reminding me of things I need to do owing to the deadline I set. If the accountability partner is like my elder brother, I can never rest until I do things right.
Did you notice that these things I enumerated can also be done early in the year after setting the goals? Why wait to explore these methods only when the goals had failed?
This is awake up call for this year that as I set my goals, I would want to put all the above measures in place so as to record success. As much as we live in an unstable World, things might not always go exactly as we want them. However, when we put in our best, our success rate can be high while failure becomes minimal. Let's do our best and smash many goals this year
This is my entry into the thinkerscorner challenge by @kenechukwu97. Thanks for stopping by.
