The Joy in the Challenge

in #hive-1538503 months ago

This year has been a challenging year for my family. From ailments to deaths, physical injuries to emotional turmoil, unnecessary arguments to heart breaking consequences, we have faced an array of hardships. Nevertheless, life goes on. Time doesn’t stop. Giving its indelible lessons and marks on our hearts and minds it trickles away.

When we encounter significant amount of overwhelming and tedious circumstances, we usually describe the whole period in terms of the exhaustion and fatigue caused by them. We often oversight the countless blessings that we still have at our disposal.

Because of being exhausted by the challenges we lack the energy to enjoy life in general. Nevertheless, a habit of being grateful to God and supportive and loving people in the surrounding makes the burden easier.

Despite being in the challenges, I am thankful to God for giving me a well-functioning body, an enduring heart, an insightful mind, a family whose presence provides me motivation and countless things in between.

There are several aspects of our lives the importance of which we undermine. We understand their importance only when we lose them. From smooth breathing to regular heart beat, conversations to dinners with our family and many things in between are the aspects that deserve appreciation. And I have been enjoying them by being grateful to the Creator.

If I have to talk about particular events that were joyful, I would like to mention one today.

Last months, for the first time in my Hive journey I became the judge for a contest as Ladies of Hive moderator. I had an idea that it was going to be a tedious task and I was mentally prepared for it.

As told by the admins and another moderator, I was expecting to read 75 to 80 entries. I set up my daily target of 12 to 14 posts a day. When I looked at the influx of posts I started reading 18 to 20 posts a day.

Wooooha! I ended up reading 101 posts that week. It was not merely reading but I dropped comment on all of them. Most of the comments were pretty detailed.

I am someone who often struggle with being active on Hive daily. Reading and commenting on 4 to 5 posts a day seems extremely challenging. However, the sense of achievement from reading and commenting on more than 100 posts in the week was a joyful experience.

The experience underscored the importance of setting targets that keep us focused and help channel our energies effectively.

Through the experience, I also gained insight into some other aspects of contests judgement. Being a judge is not only tedious in terms of reading a lot but also emotionally overwhelming. Dropping one outstanding post for the other is not easy.

Moreover, I came to the realization that a failure to win a contest tells nothing about the quality of our writing. A judge has several aspects in mind. While judging, one aspect may take priority over the other and the content has to drop out from the winning position.

This realization taught me the importance of embracing one’s uniqueness. I have learnt to be more appreciative of my uniqueness, which in itself is a source of joy.

In conclusion, despite being challenging the experience was a source of joy for me as it gave me a sense of achievement and provided me with insights I wouldn’t get otherwise. It underscored the importance of challenging one’s capabilities and setting goals to achieve beyond the limits.

We encounter different sorts of circumstances throughout our lives . Some are tedious and unpleasant bringing alot of mental and emotional traumas while some bring giggles.
Feeling sorry for that you have to face alot this year but i believe that ever bitter experience make us stronger further and you might have felt this too .
This is good to see that your gracious nature remained intact . We must be grateful in every circumstance.
Reading 101 posts in a week is really an amazing work because as a judge you just don’t only read them but analyze them as well on different parameters.

Best prays from my side

but i believe that ever bitter experience make us stronger further and you might have felt this too .

True. And I am glad that I took the best of those circumstances instead of driving negativity from them.

Thanks for your well wishes. Hope you sre doing well
