1. Driven by negative emotions
The most common change or self-change that everyone tries to bring in their life is weight loss. So let's talk about this, research has found that people who start losing weight due to emotions like shame and guilt, they stop dieting and exercising within a few weeks. We feel negative emotions very strongly. Therefore, due to anger, shame and pain, we start determined to change, but as a few days pass, these fillings become cold. And in the same way the motivation to keep changing also ends.

A meta study of 129 behavior research found that, "Fair and regret are the least effective strategies for consistent and effective change." Negative emotion is a fuel that burns instantly but before you pick up speed and build momentum, it dissipates.
So what should you do?
It was also observed in the research that people who had started losing weight due to body shaming, started noticing small changes. And they automatically started associating positive changes and filling these changes with exercise and their future. Such people were more successful in reducing weight.
There is another big hurdle.
2. Cognitive Distortion
Cognitive distortion means that when we make wrong assumptions on wrong or limited facts, then it is called cognitive distortion. We make two types of wrong thinking in bringing about change. Which does not allow us to move forward.
1. I will change everything today
2. Either I change or I fail
This is called All- Or- Nothing Thinking in psychology.
Along with this thinking, cognitive biases arise. Means we start seeing small obstacles in the form of big failure. And this thinking is the biggest reason due to which people stop. The day you are not able to do better, you are not able to complete your plan, the day you feel a break. Or after a week, if the result does not appear according to you, then you feel that you have failed. And you stop trying, but in reality this does not happen, no failure is absolute. That means you never fail 100%.
"You change a little, you learn,
you teach a little. You try again."
Then change a bit,
Then you learn a little."
And the cycle continues.
