Hello Hive Learners Community! Welcome to my blog. Tipping is not mandatory, it is optional. In many cultures, it depends on the relationship between customers and service providers. It has social norms in some societies, while it is a Hateful act in some countries. I don't consider it bad if it is to appreciate the Quality of service. Moreover, tipping culture is very common in my homeland, which is why I liked it.
Tip If You Can Afford
In some restaurants, there are service providers who demand tips, while there are some restaurants where the tip is already included in the final bill. Anyway, the idea of a tip is not bad if we can afford it.
On Thursday, I was having dinner at a Gourmet Restaurant where my service provider was an old man. I had ordered Chicken Pieces with 2 Breads. He served my order within twenty minutes. During my stay there, he was cooperative and was asking politely if I needed anything. He also guided me that if I pay my bill through my bank account, then I could enjoy a 15% concession. I was so happy because it was the first time I found something good in a brand restaurant. Otherwise, you enjoyed a delicious dinner but you had to pay it more.
When I had finished my meal, I called the old man and tipped him. He denied it because the restaurant staff was very rude. I called the manager and told him that I was willingly giving her a tip, so let him keep it. After his permission, the old man received my tip. In the end, he was happy because he earned something extra from his daily routine.
The other day when I entered the restaurant, this old man embraced me with pleasure. He cooperated with me. He served my order within five minutes and came with me outside. He was saying thank you, but again, I tipped him for his fast service. Tip was encouraging and inspirational for him, I was feeling.
Final Thoughts
If we can afford $500 for a dinner then we should keep $5 for tip to a poor or most deserved man who is serving us fast. In Asia, this culture is very famous. I have witnessed many generous people who like to appreciate the work of cooks and especially service providers with the help of tips. Believe me, I'm still feeling happy to see the charming face of that old man after small tips. We should think beyond the level. If our extra cent can provide someone happiness then we should not feel any hesitation. Donate something to the guards, to the staff, or at least to the person who presented his services to you. I don't know what tip culture is implemented in other worlds. Anyway, we should appreciate and encourage this culture. I have seen, people who are struggling for two or three times meal work there. They arranged the dinner, lunch, and breakfast that was left at the end of the restaurant. These families are very hard-working and deserve our tips.
