Hope you all had a good weekend though mine was very rough.
I'm excited to be part of the @hivelearners community and this my first contest I will be participating in this community and we would be talking about POLLUTION and how it can be rectified. Pollution happens to been one of the most disturbing factor commonly faced in our society.
Pollution in my terms is simply the the process where by an environment is being contaminated with hazardous substances that can be harmful or unhealthy to humans. This pollution can be of various types, it could be
- Air pollution
- Water pollution
- Noise pollution/ sound pollution
- Land pollution
AIR POLLUTION
This is when the air in which we inhale is being polluted or contaminated with unpleasant substances such as smoke, gas,etc. These substances can generate from smoky engine, factories,cigarettes, burning bush, smelling pit etc.
WATER POLLUTION
As we all know , water can also be polluted. For instance, a river or stream in local areas where people do fetch water maybe for bathing and do other things can be contaminated by dumping of refuge inside the water, urinating, spillages etc. Also water from the tank if not properly taken care of can be polluted too.
NOISE/SOUND POLLUTION is another type of pollution where by the environment is not conducive for people to stay as a result of to much noise. Examples, generator sound, loud music, shouting/screaming, passing vehicles, etc. This noise can also bridge the flow of communication.
Lastly on my list is
LAND POLLUTION
Land can be polluted by littering the whole environment with too many dirt, spillages e.g oil spillages from oil factories, dumping wastes on the ground etc.
From the above mentioned, There are some ways in which pollution can be controlled.
Throwing dirt in the waste bin rather than on the ground.
*Purification of water at least once in 3months.Sanitizing and keeping the gutters clean.
All waste should be recycled so it can be reused again.
Laws should should be set by the government so as to reduce the environment being polluted.
Factories who produces oil should channel their wastes to the gutter directly to avoid spillages.
Government should also assign some forces so as to ensure that those laws are being kept and maintained.
Finally , there should be provision for waste bin by the side of the walk way to avoid littering by passer-by.
If these measures can be taken into consideration,I think the rate of pollution would be reduce.
