I hate road travel that will take 5 hours or more. So I have travelled to very few places, and I'm here to share with you the aspects that make this experience a real challenge. I have got my snacks packed and my entertainment ready. The time for departure approached. The first hour was filled with excitement and anticipation. I'm finally on my way. But as hours tick by, the excitement wears off. I felt like I was stuck in the car with limited legroom and the same old scenery passing by outside the window. Also, the journey goes on; the discomfort sets in: my back aches from sitting in the same position for hours, my leg cramps from lack of movement, and my eyes strain from focusing on the road ahead. Then I wore my earpiece to play some music,it did make me feel ease a little bit
Then we stopped at a rest stop to stretch our legs and use the restroom. As we pulled into the park, I felt a sign of relief from my fellow passengers. We rushed out of the car, stretching our arms and legs. I was able to get more snacks and cold water because the journey is still far. As I walked back to the car. I said to myself, This break is really needed. I just wish I could close my eyes and open them, and boom, I would get to my destination, but then I can only wish.
As the journey continued and the time ticks by, boredom and restlessness start to set in. I listened to all my favourite songs and some new movies. I also scrolled through social media, responded to my messages, and equally video called a few friends. I tried to take a nap, but the motion of the car made it very impossible for me to. I was unable to relax or focus. As the night draw near as of when I too this picture Anxiety and stress start to build up ,I start as myself will be able to get to my destination on time or get stuck in the traffic ahead the uncertainty of the journey left me feeling so exhausted
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I have arrived at my destination. I was so relieved but exhausted from the journey. I rushed out of the car, stretched my legs and body, took a deep breath, and thanked God for a self-journey.
As I reflect on my own experiences with long road trips,. I have learnt a few valuable things. Which is, it is very important to take breaks and stretch your legs every few hours if you are using a private car; if it is public transport, try to beg the driver. The bus that drove us was quite rude. Always stay hydrated and carry enough snacks, and find a way to manage the stress, either by meditation or listening to music like I did and you feel a bit better
Thank you for reaching.
