Hello hivers how y'all doing?
This a true life story of my good friend James
He was seven when he was brought from the village to lagos, he initially was staying with his grandmother but was later sent to lagos to stay with his mother and 3 other siblings. As much as things were a bit hard, the mother made sure they could go to school and also eat 3 square meals a day.
Fast forward to when he clocked 12 years, his mum kicked the bucket leaving them with a 6 months old child. Not knowing how to cater for the child and themselves, all the kids were distributed to other relatives that could take care of them.
He was sent back to the village to stay with his grandmother, schooling become very difficult because they could barely eat not to talk of paying for school fees. But as God would have it he still manage to attend school. The next year his grandmother also died and this was the straw that broke the camel's back.
His relatives refuse to let him stay with them according to them they said they don't want another mouth to feed. He was left alone to cater for himself, which wasn't easy because before his grandmother died she was the one doing everything for him and he did nothing or less.
He started wandering about hoping to see a break through, things weren't working at all but then he met a friend of the same age as him, who happens to be going through a similar situation t but was doing a job with a little pay just to survive.
He joined his friend to work for sometimes and he was able to saved up some money, his plan was to travel back to lagos to search for one of his siblings since he hasn't been able to reach any of them. Apart from that he has always wanted to be a musician/an artiste, he was hoping to start pursuing his dream of becoming an artiste when he gets to lagos.
After some months of working extremely hard and doing different kinds of jobs he was able to gather up some money and then he left for lagos.
He arrived lagos with the hope that he might see anyone he knows or anybody that might link him to his siblings.
Lagos isn't just like any other place it is quite big and this made it hard for him, but then he was determine and was hopeful that he would see them one day. He started working for a man that needed a sales boy for his provisions business, he was honest and explained his situations to his new boss, the man felt pity for him and even accommodated him. He also feed him but the agreement was 2 times a day, brunch and dinner.
He worked for the man for 4 years, the man already took him as a son which he was really grateful to him. During his four years he was still hoping he would see any of his siblings, he wasn't allowed to go out that much but any opportunities he gets he would roam about hoping to meet anyone he knows.
He somehow got hold of a phone and would use it to surfur the internet when his boss is not around, he made a lot of researches and also he made a new friend on Facebook. He becam every visually close to this new friend and they started discussing about life and also about how to make money on the internet.
This time his friend stumbled on ''STEEMIT"platform and he introduced this platform to him, they started working, writiing post and also blogging, earning some few coins. With this he was able to gather up to 3 thousands dollars ($3000) on steemit, music contests and other little project.
He couldn't explain to his boss how he got the money from this platforms because he believe his boss might accuse him of stealing his money.
One day he decided to leave his boss's house, he ran away from home, according to him he wanted to focus more on the platforms he had just discovered and he believes this is the only way for him to make money.
He went to stay with this his Facebook friend and they became even more closer then before, they started working as if their lives depends on it.
After 3 months of staying with his friend, he got an apartment a mini flat, bought some few things and packed in. He still didn't stop looking for things to do on the internet that would fetch him money, this time he worked even harder, day and night.
A year later he got bigger and he relocated to another better place, this time he has achieved a lot of things that he couldn't do some years back. He was able to buy several things that he needed, this was the year I met him and we became friends.
As I am speaking to you now, he stays in a better house and he has his own car, he has his own music studio and also his academy for people that would love to work in entertainment industry and he is very comfortable.
He later went back to see his former boss and begged for his forgiveness, he also bought some things for him, paid for his shop and also rented a new place for him.
One of his siblings found him on Facebook and they were able to connect to the other ones. He has done so many things for his siblings and they no longer stay with their relatives.
He was the same person that introduced me to Hive and also said if I focus very well i would be able to achieve alot for my self.
