Discrimination also exist among children at home.

Gender is discrimination is very common in every society. you can hardly find a place where you don't experience it, even some of us must have discriminated others knowingly or unknowingly.

In Africa we always hear of gender discrimination and most victims are the females, because they are rarely given the opportunity to be at the top positions in the society and it still continues irrespective of the fight against it. Although there also sometimes that males are discriminated because they have nothing to offer like the women for the position they are vying for. So we can say it is a both sided discrimination.

I have also experienced discrimination also but mine was from my closed ones and family. While growing up I was living in the midst of females, I will just say there were so many girls around me called my sisters and life was not easy for me.

I was always given the hardest work at home because I was a male and my sisters were not helping me at all, what they only say to me is that it was their fault I appeared as a boy in midst of girls and now I'm facing the consequence. When I thought of what they said it seems to me they were jealous of me because I was male.

Whenever our parents brought something home they tend to take the lion share and give me what is left for the ant, I usually complained to my parents but it seems they listen to the girls more than me. During the time of arguments they overpower me because of their number, it was very disheartening and made me regretted being male, I thought I would be cherished and loved more for being a male in the midst female but in my situation the reverse was the sake.

I was always praying for the day that my freedom will come but it wasn't coming anytime soon, the females were dominating me and it should not be this way. One thing about discrimination is that you may not have the power to react back because they are of higher authority than you, I was the man but the manliness was not yet in me because there was no power to proof myself.

I was very bittered and the only thing that was going through my mind was revenge when I grew up. I always tell them that when I grow up they will get it hot from me each and no one is escaping, they will always laugh whenever I said this, they will tell me there is nothing I can do and it was a bet.

The funny part of it is we are all grown up now and boys has turned men, those urged of revenge left me and I worried more on other things that matters. I know it was because I was very small back then but the discrimination was too much, that experience has taught me a lesson, and I always advise parents to watch out for their children at home when one gender is more than the other, there might be some discrimination going on that we just overlook because it is in the family but we do not know how it affects the child who is the victim.

Home discrimination is real.

Thanks for stopping by.

You are right here... discrimination happens at home most times and some parents overlook that in the life of their children. Sorry your experience..it can affect a child's emotions but glad it's all in the past now

Yes old things are past away! But it still remains a painful experience for me. Thanks for stopping by.

True. Discrimination can occur within your loved ones. The fact you are the only make child, you should be cherished tho.

Of course, parents should be careful and aware.

Hehe. There is surely a lot to worry about other than that. You all are still family.

Your experience is touching and I can feel your pains especially as it comes from your own elder sisters. It's not funny. Please, make your mind over. You're their hero and I know, they too must be proud of you now. Are my right?

As for our parents, they should be careful.

Yes we are all good now, but back then I never had good plan for them lolz.
