Honestly, I don’t get how some people feel making promises they know they have no intention of ever keeping. They’ll promise heaven and earth, causing you to place all your trust in them and that moment when you need whatever was promised, they start coming up with stories. All forms of stories that you’re not even ready for.

This can be painful because there’s no excuse they’ll give you that will make any sense. Because of the mere fact that they strung you along knowing that they could have easily just told you ‘no’ right from the get. Funny enough, them telling you No would have never been an issue. You would simply have moved on and found someone more sympathetic to your cause. The main problem here is them making you think they’ll help you when they know that they won’t.

When you think about it, you have to wonder; is it that some people are just scared of saying no? That seems like a logical reasoning. There are people who don’t know how to say no to what people ask of them, even when they don’t like the request in any way. They say the “Yes” against their will and regret it almost immediately.

Now, changing their minds doesn’t change anything though because they still won’t say anything. They won’t tell the people that they don’t want to do it anymore, they’ll keep pretending and acting as if they’re with the plan. Meanwhile, they’ve already made up their minds that they won’t do anything.

What does it lead to? Nothing but heartbreak and disappointment in the end. On the very day that you would require what was promised, they will suddenly be unavailable. Their number would be switched off or they would go on some mystical travel. Some of them will even go as far as blocking your number so your calls can’t come through. Should you manage to use another number to call them, they start spinning lies that are just so obvious you’ll feel insulted.

Like; why didn’t you just say this at the beginning? Why string me along? It will be frustrating but in the end, there’s nothing you can do. It’s not against the law to disappoint someone, but it is against the law to give them the punch we all know that they deserve. How’s that fair?

Of course, there are many reasons why people can fail in their promises, and by this, I mean legitimate reasons. Anything at all can happen, life is full of ups and downs and unexpected turns. A misfortune might turn out to mean that someone won’t keep the promise they made to you. However, I don’t think that will ever be an excuse to be a douchebag. If they really wanted to help, their sudden inability to do so will not stop them from telling you. They won’t block your calls and do their best to avoid contact with you. They will simply tell you to your face instead of fooling you when they know they’ll still disappoint you.

But then, what can we do? People will always be people. They’ll do what’s on their mind. Now, if you ask me what they stand to gain from this, I have no idea. They simply do it I guess, because they can. I can only hope that these guys know the pain and heartbreak that they’re causing others. Because it’s just not fair. Not at all.

I think there is no point to make promise something if we don't want to. I think it's better to say no immediately and fortunately, I can do it most of the time. But it's not so easy considering the long term. So, it's better not to make the promise.
