People are already getting into the festive spirit, way ahead of schedule. With the way things are hard in the country, you’ll be shocked by the number of people who are looking forward to this year’s Christmas and New Year celebrations. As in, I thought all of us are suffering in this T-Pain economy, how then are you all looking forward to the spending that the yuletide season will bring with it? Or is there an update you guys didn’t share with me?
Omo ehn… with the kind of things I’m already seeing, it’s hard to guess how the celebrations this year will be. It could be bland and dry, not enjoyable in any way at all. But then, it could turn out to be one of the best ones people have ever had in a while. After all, the situation will never be enough reason for people not to have a good time even if it’s with the little money that they have.
Just this morning, I was approached by a small boy who gave me a promise card. It’s this pamphlet where you’ll promise a kid a gift, either cash or toys, you also give them a specific date when you’ll give it to them and your contact information so they can reach you if you’re not close by. It was really popular during our day and I know how many people I made sign those things. It’s amazing the number of things you can get away with when you’re a kid. But then, most of them never fulfilled the promise. Yuck!
Anyway… the boy refused to release me unless I made him a promise, so I did just that. Although I gave him a date in December. I just hope I remember by then, or he remembers. Because if neither of us does, then the gift is as good as gone.
This is not the only instance though, just yesterday, the street was already agog with knockouts. It’s not intense just yet, but I know that with time, it will be like a warzone in here. One that I’m not looking forward to in any way at all. It’s fun, I know. But it’s not usually all that fun when it messes with my concentration and stops me from doing the work that I’m being paid to do.
But then, what can I say? It’s the season. Just this past Monday, I saw a boutique that already had its Christmas tree ready. It wasn’t designed yet, it was just parked in a corner, ready to be utilized at a moment’s notice. I’m sure that the lights and balls are also around the corner, maybe they’re waiting for the month of December to come knocking.
So, my dear friends, it’s that time of the year again. And now that I don’t have school to look forward to next year, I guess I can do my best to enjoy it and make sure that I have a great time. I’m still not really sure how I’ll spend my Christmas season just yet but I’m sure that I’ll be sure to have a great time. It’s going to be fun, no matter how T our Pain is. We go flenjoor!!!
