At a certain point in my life, I was a gambler, There is literally nothing I can not gamble with my peers, we gamble with dice, football, Playstation, Whot cards, ludo, Draught, and so many other things...

It becomes so addicting that even when the old men in the estate start complaining about it because we gamble in open spaces like on or near the field. when we realized that many eyes were on us we started doing it in uncompleted buildings, I remember a day we went to play Dice and Whot in a 3 storey uncompleted house. So if any one had told me I would break free from it, I wouldn't believe but it happened!.
What helped my situation was the change of environment and discipline, changing of environment made me lose contact with my friends that we gamble together while discipline helped me to stay away from gamblers in my new environment because they are everywhere and it is easy to start but very hard to stop.
Bet9ja and other betting sites are what is trending now, some people gamble every day of their lives hoping for a jackpot but it never happens, while a tiny percentage get lucky... The only people making money from this gambling site are the creators, the create of Bet9ja is into money because millions of people donate to his site every day in the hope of winning... and what he does is give out a small part of all other money out to a winner once in a while.
I do not think the ban on gambling or making it illegal is going to change anything, people will just go back to the old ways which don't involve online gambling...

Some people are gambling without them knowing, for example, traders online are gamblers, you put money on a meme coin and hope it does 100x, it is all gamble, cos you can either lose your money or times it.
One bad habit with gamblers is not knowing when to stop, it happened to me too... Back then when I used to gamble a lot, I won 2000 Naira and l stopped gambling for that day with the hope that I would use the money to buy clothes the next day after school but unfortunately, the clothes seller didn't open...
When I got home, I decided to risk 100 Naira out of the 2000 Naira to gamble maybe I could get lucky again I didn't know how I gamble and lose the whole 2000 Naira, It was a sad day, and regret set in, I blame the cloth seller for not opening which made me come back home with the money...
Instead of banning Gambling, People just need to learn self-control and discipline, Gambling is just one of the Vices in the world, after the ban on that, are we going to ban lies and other vices too...
The same way some countries ban crypto and their citizens find a way around the ban to still engage and trade crypto is the same way if gambling is banned, people will find a way around it to still gamble.
