It isn't enough to just sit and fantasize about the things we want. Rather, we can choose to take action by setting our goals. This can help to fuel our ambition and give us a clear definition of what we want to achieve in a particular time frame.
However, while some goals are achievable, some are not. That's why we should always ensure that the goals we set are specific and realistic.
My Hive Goals
I happened to join Hive on the 21st of August this year, which means that in a few more days, it would be two months since I started my journey here.
I can't actually say I had any goals in the beginning as I was still very confused about how things worked here.
When I got onboarded, I almost felt like I had no purpose here. I mean...I never even liked writing and I had always faced difficulties when it came to penning down my thoughts. Of course, this was something I wasn't proud of and yearned to improve on.
However, I eventually realized that there was plenty of room for learning here and that one does not have to be a perfect writer to thrive on hive. Then I took the first step with my introduction post.
So from this, I guess I can say that improving on my writing was my first ever hive goal.
As I started growing my account, I learned that it's also very important to set hive goal as they can help in improving commitment, thereby, enhancing one's progress.
Here are my goals:
HIVE POWER
At first I didn't quite understand what HP is all about and why it's much valued.
But then I realized it's very important as it can increase influence and also increase curation rewards.
I've successfully accumulated a total of 105HP and my goal is to reach 250HP before the year runs out. I hope to achieve this by posting more quality contents (at least 5 times weekly) and also powering up a bit when I can.
ENGAGEMENT
I've noticed that my engagement on hive is quite poor. Although, I've been trying my best regardless of all the work I have I have to do offline, but I believe I can do much better and I'm working towards it.
I've made a total of 212 comments and my goal is to reach 700 comments before the end of the year. I'll definitely achieve this and even more if I can make at least 10 comments daily. I also wish to increase my engagement inorder to make more Hive friends, build stronger relationships with people and also learn a lot through reading numerous posts.
Engagement is key here on Hive and it really shouldn't be neglected.
FOLLOWERS
Having a large follower base is also very important as it increases visibility and draws more upvotes on your posts.
I currently have a total of 21 followers and my goal is to hit 80 followers before year runs out. I hope to achieve this through constantly posting quality contents and stepping up my engagement in different communities.
Achieving these things would definitely not be easy because I know I can't spend all my time here on hive due to school and a whole lot of other important stuff. But I believe that as I have set these goals, i will be driven to be more focused and commited because the pleasure received from completing difficult tasks is truly unmatched.
