The benefits that come with staying fit can really not be overemphasized.
In order for us to maintain good health and to improve the overall quality of our lives, we need be able to understand the benefits of physical fitness and staying very active.
Children, adolescents, and adults of all ages need regular physical activity and as we should all know, daily physical activity is essential in maintaining a healthy weight and reducing the risk of chronic disease.
Just by exercising regularly, we can also improve blood flow to the brain which enhances brain health and memory. Among older adults, it can help protect mental function.
But at the same time, staying physically fit is certainly not an easy task and it requires a lot of self-discipline. Many people suffer a lack of steady motivation to fitness which becomes a stumbling block to achieving fitness success.
Aside from having our fitness goals set out, self-discipline is foundationally important to achieving those goals.
Be it gym or home work out sessions, without the right amount of commitment, we just might find ourselves abandoning the whole routine at a point. That of course wouldn't do any good to our health.
As for me who isn't very sporty, I try my best to make out time everday for some physical activity, even in my very tight daily schedule.
Going to the gym has not really been an option for me (maybe not yet) because of the outrageous prices and also the great distances from my house. So of course, I would always choose to engage in exercises that are best fitting for me.
Now how do I keep fit?
If there's something I really enjoy doing, it would be taking long walks.
Just 30 minutes of walking every day can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance. Walking really helps me to stretch out and exercise my entire body.
In the morning, I would always choose to walk my little brother to school, that way, we can both keep fit. Then I would walk round the estate before finally returning home. During the evenings, taking long walks around my estate has also become a very good habit of mine. It hasn't only helped me physically but also mentally as it gives me the opportunity to rid my mind of the day's stress and also reflect on myself.
I also engage in some home workout sessions. And like I said earlier, it requires a whole lot of self-discipline and commitment.
Regularly, I make use of home workout apps on my phone which help to guide me through the exercises, set goals and also monitor my progress.
These apps have numerous home workouts which includes the ones for chest, arms, legs, abs, back and also cardio.
In these work out sessions, I usually do several push ups, sit ups, squats, leg raises, dips, jumping jacks and so on.
They can be really tiring but i always try my best to complete them at least three times a week.
There are so many different work out routines and it's advisable that we choose what works best for us so that we can stay committed.
And it's also very important that we realize that we are able to prevent numerous illnesses just by staying fit.
