This Edition's topic came at a time that I see so much positivity in the future of my dear nation, Nigeria. It is not just an election season over here but a season of awakening amongst the youths, a season of revolution.
In the history of Nigeria, the youths have been known to be so dormant as regards things that affect the nation. We have been known to be suffering and smiling, as no one questions the government and its decisions — the reason why they have never taken the citizens seriously.
The youths are about 71% of the nation's population however, more than this percentage of the nation's population have been subjected to suffering, starvation, killing, and what a view, by less than 10% of the population.
While the endurance limit of the youths have long been surpassed, we kept on enduring due to the absence of a motivating factor. That motivating factor is the famous #EndSARs protest of 2020.
Though the government treated this protest the one way they know — killing of the protesters, something permanently changed amongst the youths.
And that has been reignited in this election season by the presence of a single candidate #PeterObi — a candidate seen to be the candidate of the youths, as all the youths of various religion, tribe, and ethnicity, are rallying around him.
Of course the ruling and the major opposition parties are still undermining the strength of the force. That is well expected as they never expected the youths to awaken. They still think the youths of today are the youths of yesterday they know of. But they lie.
THE FUTURE OF THE NATION
From what the youths are cooking, I see a future full of positivity for my dear nation. A nation where politicians would be held responsible for their actions and decisions. A nation where politicians would be scrutinized before heading any political position.
The future of Nigeria is very bright. Nigeria is a nation blessed in many ways, ranging from intelligence to mineral resources. Amidst these endowments, Nigeria has failed in leadership. And that's the only missing piece in the quest of Nigeria actualizing its full potential.
So, I see a future where Nigeria is excelling in Leadership. Which mainly interprets to a near-perfect Nigeria.
I see a future where tribe, religion and ethnicity will no longer be a determinant in deciding what affects the nation. I see a United Nigeria where everyone can thrive anywhere in the country. I see a country that ranks amongst the safest in comparison with other nations of the world.
The future Nigeria that I see is a nation where the poverty rate is all time low — where everyone is flourishing in all their endeavours. I see a future where the Naira competes with the USD. I see a future where Nigerians in diaspora will not only invest heavily in the country but can comfortably have a place they call home, offering them the opportunity to return home — if need be.
To conclude, Nigeria is a great nation with a great future. The potential of this nation is best among nations. And I see it actualising its great potential to the fullest.
