Leadership is a crucial component of any successful organization, community or society. Leadership is the force that drives progress,inspiration,motivate and empower others to achieve excellence in their area of specialty in life. In this write up, we will explore the concept of leadership, it's importance, characteristics and strategies towards building a good leadership.

A leader is an appointed person who is in the position of a group or team in order to direct, guide, reconstruct and build the team to achieve a certain goal set up by the team. Also, a leader is a person who leads with example, having his members in mind and willing to work together with his members to achieve something great and better.
So now, strategies towards good leadership are ways or plans that has been laid down to be followed in order to be an effective leader.
Let talk about the characteristics of a good leader:
- A good leader has a clear vision of the goal to be accomplished.
- A good leader is decisive and focused.
- A good leader is courageous.
- A good leader should have the ability to communicate clearly and listen actively.
- A good leader should be empathetic to understand and share the feelings of others.
- Lastly, a good leader is a person of integrity.
Following the knowing of the characteristics of a good leader, it important for us to also know the kind of leadership styles we have. In this write up, i will only mention three which are:
The Autocratic Leadership Style: the autocratic leadership style is the type of leadership who centralizes power and decision making to himself an autocratic leader does not take in opinions of others but rather give orders and instructions to the team members to follow.
Participative Leadership Style: this type of leadership Style welcomes the opinion of the team members and allowed them to participate in the decision making to achieve the goal of the group.
Delegative Leadership Style: this type of leadership style that enables the leaders and the team members to share authority and responsibilities within themselves, this type of leadership style paves way for members to take in decisions on their own. Members receive little guidance to make decisions in solve problems while the leaders supplies tools and resources for them to work with to achieve the goal of the organization.
Now let's move to the STRATEGIES TO BECOMING A GOOD LEADER.
- A leader should be able to identify the purpose of the existence of the group.
- In becoming a good leader, the leader should identify and study the team in order to know their characters, weak points, intelligence and how they can work together.
- A good leader should create a list of developmental goals in which the team members should work with within a specific time frame.
- A good leader distribute task to be done to team members and help them in developing plans to ensure they achieve the goal of the group.
- A good leader is meant to lead by example and not being lazy.
- A good leader should celebrate the success of the team members and encourage feedbacks.
- Lastly a good leader should supervise and correct with love.
