I am so delighted to be participating in this week's prompt, a compliment of the season. The long-awaited Christmas is here; everyone is busy making preparations for the Christmas season.

Christmas is a very special season that brings family and friends together. There is no season that unites people like Christmas. Christmas is a big celebration. It is one season that will make people visit their hometown. Christmas comes with a lot of memories; seriously, Christmas is one of the best seasons for me. There is a lot to eat and drink; also, there is a lot of presents to unbox. Knowing that Christmas is in a few days gives me joy. Christmas is that celebration that is most celebrated in the world.
The house is already full with many relatives and family Christmas is smelling is just a day to Christmas. Today will really be a busy day for me. I will be going to the market to buy things that I will prepare tomorrow. The house is full; a lot of relatives visit home. When I return from the market, I will prepare for our family hangout. It is my family tradition every 24th of December; we organize a family party where we eat, drink, and are merry. Our family hangout tightens my family bond. One thing about my family party is my elder brother will ask each and every one of us how life has been treating us. If there is anyone that needs help, the family will raise funds for the person.
I am kind of afraid of going to this year's family party because my mom told me that I should come with my husband. Funny enough, my busy schedule didn’t give me time to get a man for myself. Of course I will be going to Christmas vigil night. What is Christmas without going to vigil night? The joy of Christmas is hearing the melodies sung from the choirs. Trekking back home with joy with my cousins and big brother is funny. Getting home, I will go straight inside the house to rest my head because the task ahead of me tomorrow is too much.
On the 25th I will wake up early to prepare my little niece and nephew to go to church because whenever these kids see me, they will not allow any other person to dress them apart from me. Once I am done, I will enter the kitchen to prepare the Christmas food. My own is to cook. Once I am done, I will go to my maternal home to see my grandmother and visit most of my friends there.
Later in the evening I will go to the village for a masquerade display, of course, because what is Christmas without going to see the masquerade display and the beautiful woman dancing to the beat of the local drum?
This Christmas is really a special one. Everyone is back home: both my cousins and uncle, whom I have not seen for 8 years now, are back. This is one of the best Christmases ever for me. There is a lot to eat and be merry about. I am so happy that I am going to bond with my family members. Thank you, Christmas, for bringing my uncle home.
