History is very important because it helps us to have a better understanding of the things that happened in the past and also gives us information to handle or face the future. It is very important that history is taught in school. The knowledge of history will enable the student to have a better understanding of the things that happened in the past and also learn from our forefathers.
Reading history and learning from the past is very necessary; it will help us live a better life and have a better understanding of the world. It will help us to have a better understanding of the world and think wide. Not learning history in some schools is like denying a child some privilege. Because history has facts that will help to shape a child, it is through history that the child will get to know about how something got to be. They will also learn from the mistakes of the past generation. I understand that some people will prefer to learn from their own mistakes, but the best is learning from other people's mistakes. This will help guide their minds in whatever they are doing.
I was not born during the slave trade, but I get to know about slave trading through history. I don’t see the reason why some schools think that history is not relevant. I see history as documentation. For me to tell you how important history is, let's take, for instance, our forefathers didn’t document the great things they achieved; we couldn’t have had the knowledge about how they were able to achieve those things. History is very important, if I may say it is necessary that history is being thought about in the classroom.
During my days in school, if there is one subject I love so much, it is history. History was the only subject that sparked my curiosity because I really wanted to know more about the subject. My teacher back then realised how much I loved the subject. I can happily say that this subject helped me to have a better understanding of the world, and I look at the world in a more critical way.
History should be added to the student curriculum. If possible, history should be made compulsory for all students. This kid needs to be well informed, like the will always say, Information is power. Telling our kids of the things that happened before they were born will help spark them more and will help guide them to a better future.
In conclusion, the importance of history can’t be overemphasised; history is very important. Every country should make history a compulsory subject; it is very necessary. My little advice to the little ones is that it is very good to learn about your history, how things get to be, and why they are the way they are.
