Good day, amazing people of the hive block chain. Welcome back to my blog. This is another edition of the #hivelearners weekly prompt topic. What advice will you give to generations to come?
Advice is very important in life. My mom will always tell me that whoever gives you advice, you should love and respect that person. For someone to give you advice, it means that they love and care for you. I am so delighted to give this piece of advice to my next generation. I will advise them based on the things that have helped me in this journey of life. The word never give it is a very powerful word. This word pushed me to be who I am today.
Never give up. The world or life we see ourselves in is full of challenges and hard times. During this period, you may think that our own world is coming to an end. Don’t panic. These are the things you need to overcome as a human. Giving up is never an option.
Just be focused and determined towards achieving whatever goal you set for yourself. There will come a time when you will fail. Don’t allow your failure to bring you down. Pick up from there and keep pushing.
Just remember that if you give up, you have lost. All you need to do is believe in yourself, be focused, and determine whether you will achieve that success or that goal you plan to achieve. Always tell yourself that I will make it and that I will achieve the goal I set for myself. Believe in yourself, and you will make it.
I will like to share my little story with my next generation so that they can learn from my life experience.
I love education so much that after secondary school, I set for jamb exams four times. I didn’t get admission into the university when I was writing the fourth jamb exam. My dad told me that if I fail this jamb exam, he will not purchase jamb from me again. If I fail this time, I will go and learn skills. I read like mad because I don’t want to learn skills. I love education. When the result came out, I failed the exam, and my younger sister got admission. I became a laughing stock in my neighbourhood. But I never give up. The next year, I purchased a jamb from my little savings and sat for the exam, and I scored 300. I was so shocked and, at the same time, happy. Had I given up on myself, I could have gotten admission.
During the time of admission, my name appeared on the merit list. Today, I am a graduate, and I am working as well. Most of my friends, who laughed at me back then, were at home without jobs.
Had it not been for giving up on myself, I could have been where I am today. I fought my fight, and I won the battle.
One thing is sure: if you don’t give up, all you need to do is believe in yourself, be focused, and determine that you will get what you want to achieve. Always remember that giving up is never an option. Never give up, no matter the challenges of life.
