Good day and happy weekend, amazing people of the Hive blockchain! Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to be participating in this week's prompt topic: time travel.
I don’t know if I am the only one that a lot of ideas come to their head after an incident has occurred; at that moment, the incident is happening, and no idea will come. I will really lack words or action to take, but when the incident is over, I see a lot of ideas coming up.
There is particular history that happened in my country; I don’t like hearing anything about it. The people back then really suffered from the slave trade. My people really suffered during that era. Listening to the story by my grandfather really made me cry. I wept for my forefathers because they really suffered. They were treated as if they were not human. They were treated like animals with big chains on their legs and hands, flogging them with chains. They were treated very badly. Many people lost their lives; the maltreatment was so much.
According to history, slaves back then didn’t have a voice of their own; their masters used them the way they lived. The majority of them were sold out of Africa; according to my father, that is why we have Black Americans—they are Africans sold to white men. People were seriously living in fear. My grandfather was so lucky; according to him, when they got to the place where they would sell them, it happened that slave trading had stopped. But the mark from the chain is still in his body. I will not lie; every time I see the mark of those chains on my grandfather’s body, I just wish that I could take back the hand of time so that I could deal with those people that hurt my grandfather.
Of course a lot of us would like to travel back, just like me, to rewrite a lot of things, but seriously, we will not be able to do anything. The country is so corrupt; you will be betrayed. Probably people in high rank will kill you. In our mind you will like to fight, but when you look at the circumstances surrounding you, believe me, you will not do anything. At that moment, all you will be thinking of is how to save yourself because the people we want to fight are well alarmed.
I have come to realise that most of the problems we face today we are the cause of. During that slave trade, the traders were given something to the higher authority. Tell me, how will you be able to fight if you are to travel back? How many people will you fight before the end of your life? Believe me, you will not want to be that sacrificial lamb. If we are to travel back in time, you will not do anything.
If I have the opportunity to travel back, I will try my best to unite and stop corruption because corruption is the problem of my country.
