Some years ago, I had conversations with some slim and average body ladies who believed that they do not need to go to the gym or watch what they consume because they have the slimness in their traits. But is that true?
Do you know that one might have a good stature and still not be fit, one might also have a big stature and be fit more than most people who look good on the outside.
Intentionally keeping fit is important even for slim and trim looking people, not just for the present health, but also for the days when we finally get old.
So how do you know if you're fit
Examine how well you can endure cardiovascular activities like running, swimming, walking jumping rope and the likes. Do you get tired easily?
Examine your flexibility. I know of some young and trim looking people who finds it difficult to stand straight for long. They have build up a bad posture over time.
Also check for your energy level. A fit person is always energetic to work at any given point in time. When you often feel lazy to start physical tasks, it's mostly as a result of not being fit.
NOTE: Being fit is not only about the outward looks, it also deals with the inner health and abilities like, strength, cardiovascular endurance, stamina, e.t.c.
The ultimate price.
Fitness won't materialize by wishing it upon one's self. Most people wish to be fit but ain't willing to pay the price. Some do, but ain't consistent about it. As we all know, the price to being fit is consistent exercise and good diets.
Yes, good diets. To diet does not necessarily mean to eat less food or starve one's self. One can diet by being intentionally watchful of the kind of food he or she eats and the substances that he or she consumes. By makeing research, checking for benefits and detriments of everything before taking them and finally balancing all these things while prioritising the most beneficial foods and drink over the most damaging ones.
It's not about the quantity of food, but the quality. Some people might take junk foods and think they are dieting, it doesn't work that way.
I define diet as consciously filtering junks foods and harmful meals from entering into the body system and exercise as the intentional activities that burns out the harmful substances that are already inside the body system.
I would say that the best way to keep fit both inside and outside is by engaging in both exercise and good diet. This way we do not only prevent the things that can cause harm, we also burn out the ones already inside while keeping the body 100% fit
