I get to know about current happening through different means, but it's never me deliberately switching on the TV to actually listen to the news. It's not just a thing for me, but I appreciate being up to date too and the truth is that news travel really fast. My parents sometimes start conversations based on what they heard recently through the news and their colleagues and before you know it, it will get to us to. Also, the internet is like the place to get news really fast and the fact is that you don't even have to look for it before you find it.
People post things happening around them on X and its goes viral, especially if it's that kind of news that catches people's attention easily. Funny enough, I still prefer that source of news than these ones they broadcast on the TV or on the radio because I know for a fact that I cannot fully trust it. The media wants us to see what they want us to see, they control what goes out and most of the time, not the entire truth. They might not be able to control what happens but they cab sure control what gets to the people. The government are a huge factor in this regard, we can conclude that they control the media. Maybe they feel we are gullible and will believe anything that they approve to be sent out to us. I have heard really funny news around here and the guts they have to send them out is very baffling 😂😂
I remember that time this news was released that snake swallowed money😂😂 I think the media can be a joke sometimes fr😂💔 Also, this very sad incident that happened about 4 years ago, where citizens were attacked during a peaceful protest. If not that there were live videos to prove the truth of what happened at that place, the government wants us to believe that no one was attacked and injured at the place, they recorded zero death too! We were all at home, getting extremely heartbroken by everything we were seeing online from the people that were present at the location and these people had the effontry to cook up lies the following morning. They even lied about putting up an hidden camera and bla bla bla, it was so heartbreaking!.
Now, imagine the internet didn't exist and we had to rely fully on what the media houses releases to us. That is how the truth would have been hidden from us forever. The media and the government work and hand in hand and it is very scary, they literally let us know what they want us to know. I only depend on news from fellow citizens and that's even after careful evaluation. Yeah, I don't go around believing the next news I find on the internet too, people chase too much clouts these days, actually.
Recent happenings have been very heartbreaking too, it's even tiring and scary at the same time. So much killings and kidnappings and people going through so much hardship in the country. So, the news around have just been very heartbreaking and I don't even look forward to hearing them, except it's unavoidable.
