The first time I drank Alcohol, it was genuinely out of curiosity. I see how obsessed so many people are with it, especially youths. They would rather go for alcoholic drinks in parties than snacks and soft drinks. I had to find out what was so special about it, and also, I was so sure of myself to maintain my composure and sanity after drinking it. I wanted to see how it felt like to be 'drunk' and the possible pleasure that would come from it. Well, I found out and satisfied my curiousity but my experience wasn't nice at all.

The next morning, I felt as if I was down with malaria and I wasn't myself at all. I wondered how people actually find pleasure in feeling that way, this substancedoesn't even taste good!. To be honest though, at the time I was drunk, I was just in the moment and felt so free. I think that is why some people abuse it--to get away from their reality for a moment, although they will still have to face it at the end of the day. This alcohol experience of mine left me traumatized for months, I didn't even want to smell it at all. I can't explain why, but that was what happened.

Honestly, I do not see any benefit that alcohol or hard drugs do for people. It just gives people this illusions and feeling that they never get enough of, and that is what makes most people get addicted easily. The fact that something has the power to make all your problems dissapear, even if it for a while, is what makes people get attached to it easily. I don't think the government can do much when it comes to ensuring no one takes above a particular limit, so if it can be banned, why not?

Alcohol and hard drugs has done more harm than good to people, especially youths. So many people are in the hospital going through so much pain and agony, because of what alcohol and hard drugs have done to them. So much more has landed in mental facilities and the rate is even alarming. We'll see random videos online of people running mad and displaying signs of mental illness, what else do we have to blame rather than the hard drugs and alocohol that has become so rampant in the society today.

The damaging effect of alcohol is different from that of hard drugs in my own opinion but they both cause harm to the body system. We have heard of people that dies due to excessive drinking of alcohol. I mean, that's really a silly way to die if you ask me. An hostel mate of mine back then got drunk one night and started saying all his secrets. We tried to shut him up but he threatened to beat us and made us listen anyways. He spoiled his door, his socket and scattered so many things and he couldn't even remember the day after. He met his room looking scattered the next day and wondered what happened until we told him about all his drama.

Honestly, there is nothing appealing and fun about alcohol and if I had the power to ban it, I wouldn't hesistate. We are aware that some red wines are usually medicinal when taken in the right quantity but as much as I would say only red wines should stay, I trust people to abuse it as well. Infact, it's a mission impossible but I do hope peoplee actually get to realize that the after effects of all these alcohols and hard drugs is usually so bad. Abusers end up with failed organs and in worst days, they die. So, what is the point exactly?

Thanks for reading ❤️

Honestly trust people to always abuse stuff even when their is rules so am also of the opinion it should be banned.

It's that abuse that actually gets to me, they never take it in the moderate amount.

It just gives people this illusions and feeling that they never get enough of,

Exactly, it is the worst feeling. Cravings that can’t be satisfied.

To be honest, even those drugs are used medically for some patients that needs it but not abused. The drug is not the problem but the abuser is the problem.

It is a serious issue in our generation, I hope many youth can see the damages

Very profound! The problem is truly the abusers because they know what these things does to them and they still consume more than what their body can take.

Indeed. Even alcohol in moderation is harmful to the body. It has long been seen as a sort of right of passage from youth into adulthood, but I wish laws prohibiting its sale and use were more stringent. The same goes for vaping, drugs etc. Navigating parenthood is a minefield with so many temptations around for youngsters and so many unethical retailers just wanting to turn a quick buck, no matter who their actions may harm.

It is very sad, because there is very little that can be done now and it keeps getting even worse as each day passes by.

My dear!
Alcohol should be condemned in same manner as the hard drugs.
They're all the same.

Exactly!

Thank you so much for your comment✨️

Why are you people banning everything 😂😂

I'm always against the motion of banning things, idky😂. Even popes take alcohol to satisfy the soul. Let's not ban them, but let's remember that in everything we do, moderation is key
#dreemport

So you dey shayo?

I no dey shayo oo😂😂, but some sweet drinks contain some level of alcohol so, you get naw

Lol, when people never take it in moderate proportion, that's why we want to ban it naw😩

People are so funny, why would you want to harm yourself or put yourself in a very vulnerable state for fun? It is actually getting out of hand😩

Lol, but everyone has the right to choose what they want for themselves.

It is getting out of hand honestly

Yeahh, there is that, and every choice has a repercussion.

It's a good question. Products that alter the mind and have existed for centuries in most cultures, and all have some level of abusers. To me, the solution lies in early and often discussion, whether it's alcohol, or sexuality, or any other facet of our lives and world. Talking openly, factually and appropriately in the best solution.
My children were allowed to have a sip of the alcoholic drinks we consumed. They grew up understanding what it was, and what it wasn't. By the time they got to high school, there was no rebelling nor giving in to peer pressure with alcohol. They knew and had seen the results of inappropriate use, and had no desire to go there. As adults, they, like I, have consumed it for its mind-altering effects, but we know and accept what we're getting into.

Hmm, that's quite an approach, and I really understand. Curiosity would have made them want to try it anyways, but then, it's still tricky.

Alcohol, when consumed beyond limits, causes more harm than good. I love how you explained the illusion that accompanies the consumption of alcohol. The addiction is very easy. The body adjust its mechanism of functioning and begin to depend on the consumption of alcohol and drugs to function well. A very dangerous path to start with

Yeah, very dangerous, actually.

This alcohol of a thing. I once came across someone that said they take alcohol to take them away from reality for a while. And I asked her if it takes you away for a short time, when you recover, won't you still come back? She said that at least, she won't be drowning in her sorrows while she's under the influence.

Of all things to drown yourself in, it's alcohol? Why not just sleep if you don't have anything productive to do?

Damn, this is the exact thing I was trying to paint in my post! It is so easy to get addicted to once they have discovered the advantage it does for them. They start abusing it every single time and funny enough, the body starts getting used to it.
