Good day, everyone! I'm really grateful the Hive Learner community created this contest and gave me the opportunity to share my favorite childhood game with this lovely community. Personally, I believe this contest will be a huge amount of fun and entertaining.
COUNTERS BALL
Counters ball is a popular game among elementary school children, particularly boys. This was the most intriguing game I played as a kid, and it was also my favorite. Football was a fascinating game that was played using bottle tops and a small metallic pebble.
It's a game I'll never forget, owing to the fact that I was my crew's main source of bottle tops and we used to play it at my place. I recall asking my mother to fetch me bottle caps whenever she went to the market so that I could use them at school. My mother was completely aware that I was not utilizing them for their intended purpose, but rather to play counters.
How Is Counters Ball Being Played
It is a two-sided game, similar to football. Some individuals would get a piece of plywood and sketch a football field on it, after which they would play the game. My neighborhood colleagues and I used to make our football field on a well-cemented floor, and of course, in a location where no one would walk by to interrupt us.
We'd grab white Printing sheets and fold them into a rectangular box for the poles. When we couldn't find a small metallic pebble to use as our ball, we'd just find something perfectly round to use instead, and we'd be good to go.
We'd pick the first two teams to go off against each other after we'd organized the arena. All you had to do was strike the bottle against the ball with your finger. Each player could only play one shot at a time. It could continue on for several minutes until someone manages to get the ball into the net. The person who is scored must then pack his bottle tops (counters) for the next person to use.
The Rules Of The Game
There were also some game rules to follow. It's a penalty if the ball hits your leg, and it's also a penalty if your bottle tops move over the ball and totally cover the ball. Alternatively, unless a foul has been committed, you may just get up and pick one of your bottle tops and place it closer to the ball.
I still recall myself as the undisputed champion of the neighborhood.
I'd like to express my gratitude to the Hive Learner community for bringing up this contest, and this is my entry.
Thank you for reading, have a blissful day.
