As some of you all know I’m a baker and sometimes we have busy days and other times resting days, my work is very flexible and sometimes not flexible because jobs do come at any given time, and untill the job is being delivered to client, there will be no rest, physically and even mentally.
My job sometimes comes maybe in a month back to back, and my boss and I continually bake and docorate non-stop till all jobs are have been delivered.
I’m not faced with a fixed routine all the time because sometimes in month I don’t even go to my place work more than once or twice, I have the chance to do other things and other jobs, I have the chance to work online, and other days it’s strictly work, work, work. Although on some days I get to do things in a particular way, that is to say, I mix, I bake, and I decorate and this routine repeats itself maybe continuously in a particular week because we may have plenty orders of cakes.
While on other days, I’m faced with cooking orders and production of drinks like Tigernut drinks, and on some days it could be snacks like chin-chin, doughnuts, cookies and right now I’m thinking of adding shawarma and Pizza to my menu so that on the days that I don’t have a cake order, it could be something else from the menu.
I do have a bit of freedom to do things my own way and on my own terms, just like yesterday I was at home and I received an order to bake brownies, instead of going to shop, I made them at home with some home appliances because the cost of transportation is very high, If I should remove the money for transportation from the money I charged from the brownies then nothing would be left, so I respected myself and made use of gas and pot to bake.
Honestly I would really love to have a tight schedule with my baking work, it’s something I always love to do, I find Joy in baking and decorating cakes, I love exploring on my capabilities and striving to know how to do it better and also showing my skills, if I had a chance I would rather change things from the way they are now, I would love to have more than fifty orders in a month, Lol.. but truely its what I really want.
I would love to change my routine to a routine that is been packed with plenty of orders, because it really its not just going to be about learning a skill but also the ability to keep that skill alive and also earn a living from that skill if possible, when a person learns about a skill and stop doing it for a long period of time, it takes a negative turn on the person, and thats why on some days that I don’t have jobs, I take out my own money do some practical work on own just to keep the skill alive.
