Depression is a state when the mindset is no longer positive, I never believed a man could ever be depressed as I regarded myself as a strong man. I only felt its for women.
I will share my story that led to depression and how I was able to overcome it.
###What really occurred
I was in school preparing to round off my final semester. When I received the news of the demise of my junior sister. I was shocked because she was the super intelligent type. I was surprised on how manage death could cross her path. This left me in thoughts though I managed to read for my final papers.
How I overcame the depression
Each time I walk on the road, I call her name because she was my best friend, and I couldn’t imagine thinking she was gone, I all thought it was a dream but each day I wake up in real life tells me it’s no longer a dream.
The antidote I applied is as stated below
I prayed for her
Despite she was gone, I prayed my her soul be accepted in the place of rest and guess what she appeared to me that it was her time iii shouldn’t be worried . She just came a short while to the world. The prayer also helped me not to think much about her demise and focus on facing the real life.
I used natural anti-depressant
Natural anti-depressant such as fun and engagement were the tips I used to overcome the depression.
A lot of people go for hard drugs and even smoke substance that will make them stop thinking about a situation but the negative effect of using those things are harmful to health and when you come back to your normal senses, the thought comes again, if you continue with that you become addicted to the substance.
I read books on how to overcome depression
Trust me I searched the internet on how to overcome depression, read peoples experience about it and how they got rid of it. I applied it to myself and it worked for me. One of it is controlling your thoughts. The thought might come again but I was able to control it.
Never stay alone or idle when depressed
Whenever you are depressed, idleness or loneliness is not an option, get engaged with activities, if you sleep alone, you can invite a friend to come stay with you. Not just an ordinary friend but the one who will help you in managing the situation.
Depression has done more harm than good. It is only when we allow ourselves to be carried away that it might be disastrous. Say no to depression and move on with your real self.
