Fear is one thing that is inevitable. We have someday came across situations where we were scared of losing something which may be life, phone, money or even reputation.
I will share my story of how I was gripped with fear.
During my secondary school days
During my secondary school days, I went for a tutorial closer within the town and I never knew what will happen on my way back.
As usual, I boarded a taxi though as at then kidnapping children were rampant on news broadcast, my parents will always will inform me to be careful about private taxi as some of them were used to perpetrate evil act.
One a good day, I waited to board a taxi but to no avail I didn’t get one as fast as I wanted, I had to wait for one hour which has never happened before but such day was a global event organized in town.
I decided to use the private cab so I could get home because I was already stressed out waiting for public bus that was already filled.
Using a private cab made me observe very well what is going on because they were three other passengers at the back and one in front and I thought they are normal passengers. On entering the cab I prayed first and I was feeling suspicious of things going on. How will you board a taxi and everyone knows each other? And everyone was interested in talking to you. It’s weird.
So I decided to monitor what’s going on. On getting to a location where there is a forest which I know very closer to my area, they navigated to the road that led there and am aware that such place isn’t safe.
The driver diverted into the forest route claiming that law enforcement agencies are on the way and he doesn’t have the complete license. Immediately I shouted that I want to drop because I understood what was going on and didn’t see any law enforcement agency from afar.
I remember shouting at the driver to stop the car, opening the door whilst the car was in motion because he refused to stop rather was driving. And I decided to open the door and jump out immediately though I almost fell on the ground but I was scared not to lose my life.
And fear gripped me because, I have heard of how people were been kidnapped and body parts removed along that road though the law enforcement agencies weren’t concerned because it seems they use to have a share of the proceeds too.
I ran for my life, it was as if hammer was used to beat my chest and even getting home I couldn’t tell the story because an instant fear that gripped me, I couldn’t talk but was only crying and speaking few words.
The memory refuses to leave after the first week but I managed to forget it and promised to be careful when using cab. This is the story that make fear gripped me a lot.
Thanks for reading, do have a pleasurable day.
