It's Been Tough But I Won't Give Up, Tackling The Issue Of Saving
Every one of us has that desire to become a better version of ourselves. Each day we strive, making plans, executing, and repeating the process until we get those desired results.
When we started out this year, I had plans like every other person used to have. There has been a goal I have been pursuing for quite some time now. I think I have talked about it on this platform before.
Growing up as a young man, I realized the relevance of having savings at an early age, and I decided to channel my energy towards obtaining that kind of reality in my life as well.
I had that knowledge prior to that time but I never saw the need, until I began to grow into maturity. It is very easy to say "I will keep this amount of money when I earn and not spend it no matter the situation," until you eventually have money in your possession.
Things you never knew were in your life to address with money will begin to pop up. As soon as you finish addressing this one, another will come up, until the money you just received finishes.
Trying to create a life of saving is one of the most difficult things I have done this year. The more I propose in my heart to save, the more I spend, and trust me, not unnecessary spending. With the situation the country is in, you should know what I am talking about.
I read books, I watched videos on YouTube, and also sought advice from those ahead but I still couldn't get there. Sometimes, I'll start out well, save money to some extent but subsequently withdraw it when a pressing need arises.
After so much trial and error, I realized that it takes so much discipline and sacrifice to build a life of saving. No wonder only a few can boldly come out and say I have savings.
It's so difficult to save when you are only depending on one source of income, pressure might be so much on that source that you may not be able to see the worth, even if it pays you well. However, you can still save from there if you are disciplined enough.
Saving is something that will just inconvenience you whether you like it or not, just that you may not be able to hold on for long if you only have one source of income.
I will be honest with you, I still haven't been able to sustain a steady life of saving, but I appreciate the fact that it has opened my eyes to see where I was getting it wrong.
So, I'll commit to building myself and getting other sources of income. If I finally get what I want, fine, if I don't, I'll source out other means until I get it.
In conclusion, savings is not all about how much you earn, it's all about discipline. Nevertheless, it will be very easy for you if you have the resources flowing from different angles. It will save you the temptation of reaching out for what you saved to settle bills.
