Humans are complicated creatures, they can act in unimaginable ways when it comes to business. Both the sellers and the buyers are only looking out for what will favor them and not what is right. This is why at the end of the day, one person leaves cheated and the other in profit.
I have been a customer with many people, I have had many crazy experiences with sellers, I have been cheated and also embarrassed Publicly by some of them.
It got to the point where I no longer go to the market to get any product unless I know the actual price of the product or I am used to the seller, if not I must carry someone who has good bargaining skills or looks elderly.
But not all traders are bad and not all buyers are bad. There are amazing people who deal with their customers honestly and respectfully. I have come across both the good sellers and the terrible ones. I'll be sharing my experiences below.
I used to hear that people buy clothes online and I was wondering how it's possible, coupled with the fact that there are a lot of scammers online and the issue of getting a different thing from what you ordered for.
Nevertheless, I wanted to try it and one day, I decided to give it a shot. There was this lady on Facebook who always advertises clothes.
No doubt her clothes are always very captivating. One day, I sent her message requesting for one and she assured me that our deal will be a nice one.
In my heart, I already signed that my money was gone because it was payment before delivery.
After a week, I got a call from the lady, and she asked for my location. I told her and to my surprise she brought my T-shirt by herself. The lady lives in thesame town with me, we've crossed path a few times but have not conversed or greeted before.
I have never done any business deal with someone who cherish their customers like her. She kept appreciating me for patronizing her and before my product arrived she always calls to apologize for the delay.
After getting the shirt from her, I got home and it was not what I ordered for. I got angry and called her instantly, I thought she wouldn't take the call but she did. When I expressed myself to her, she apologized and asked me to keep it for her, that she was going to change it for me and give me an extra T-shirt as a token of apology.
Immediately I heard those words, I felt peace, she has good manners of approach and knows exactly how to treat her customers. Other sellers won't even take your calls, some might even tell you nonsense. In the end, I told her to leave it, I was going to use the shirt.
From that day, she became my best customer, for all my subsequent orders, she has never delivered anything different from what I demanded for. One thing I love about her products is they are always of high quality.
For the bad experience, it happened about nine years ago, it was during Christmas period. Normally the prices of goods usually hike during that time.
I and my younger brother went to buy Christmas clothes. The seller told a certain price and it seems to high for us because we knew the price of the trouser. We pleaded with the man to reduce the price to no avail.
We weren't carrying enough money for it, so we told the Man that we would go home and complete the money and he agreed.
When we returned to get the trouser, the man suddenly increased the price. I tried to explain to him that we were the ones that just left to go and get the balance for the trouser but he refused and sent us out of his shop.
I felt so bad that day, I wished I had the power to make myself grow tall suddenly because I knew it was because he felt we were kids so he could cheat us and treat us the way he wanted.
We would have gone home but the dismay on my brother's face didn't let me be, I had to just go and get the trousers for him in the same shop at the additional price and we trekked back home because we had no extra money.
I don't know what caged me to that very shop, it was after the deal that my sense came back, there were many other shops, I could have gone to there since the man wanted to cheat us but I didn't.
Both experiences taught me that people are different, the fact that we have a negative experience with someone doesn't mean everyone is like that.
Another lesson I acquired is to always walk away whenever I am not pleased with price of any goods I want, no matter how much I love it even if I have the money at hand. It's better to go to another shop than get it at a price that will take away my joy.
