Every human strive to achieve financial stability and independence in order to be able to afford basic life necessities without struggle and also build a successful business enterprise if the need arises. It is a goal common among all humans, who wouldn't want to live a better life? The struggle of staying out of reach of poverty has motivated many to accumulate substantial level of wealth using various ways which would elevate their status in the society.

However, The few who are privileged to have achieved financial independence constitute only about 10-30% of population of people in a country while the rest roam in poverty. It is never anyone's fault that a group of people are unable to elevate their financial status but the truth remains, we are not given equal opportunity which might make it a lot difficult for some people to have the financial status they crave despite working as hard as they can towards it.

Being wealthy comes with a lot of privileges such as being in the position to have a say in matters that concerns the governance of a state or the trajectory of the economic sector. We have some individuals in our society whose net worth supersedes the entire reserve of a state. Knowing fully well that these individuals can decide to use their wealth in ways that might not go inline with national interest, it makes you wonder if the government of a country should regulate the amount of wealth that can be acquired individually.

Regulation of individual wealth might sound fair to most average people since they consider riches to be an element control but giving the government of a state such power does have its advantages and disadvantages. For starters, with the capacity to limit the amount of riches an individual can accumulate grants the government of a state the opportunity to prevent excessive accumulation of wealth but then it puts the government in the position to decide who gets rich and who doesn't.

Most people might think the reason why we have issues in governance of a state is as result of voting wrong people into power, which is partly true but then we are all forgetting one thing which is the nature of human beings. We humans enjoy exercising control over everything in our environment, it is an element that comes with our superiority mentality. The need to conquer and administer authority over the weak is an attribute of humans and most especially the greed. Which means that no one is incorruptible, it is only our level of putting our greed under control that differs.

Being aware of the fact that the so called government who are meant to enforce such policy are also humans, it won't lead to fairness but dictatorship. Which would deprive the citizens of a state the free will that comes with being human. For instance imagine building a successful business and eventually you start reeking a lot of profit, suddenly the government comes around and says you have reached the individual limit of wealth, what do you think will happen to your business? It is either you are forced to donate a sizeable amount of money to the government or close down the business.

The funny aspect of it is that donating to the government means it will drop into the purse of some certain individuals within the government giving them the opportunity to enrich themselves and since they are under the disguise of enforcing the law, no one will question their wealth since they are the government. Which will only further worsen our case because we will have lot of politicians roaming about using this policy to extort the masses, bringing about tyranny. What will be the point of regulating the wealth of the citizen of a state when those in power still end up accumulating wealth that belongs to the masses, at least with the present system everyone have a chance of achieving limitless financial status.

Especially Nigerian politicians will use this medium to oppress the citizens because they have already regulated the earnings, I believe we should all have our freedom

Exactly, government officials can just walk up to anyone and say you have gotten too rich 😂
