Every family needs family time to engage in activities that promotes bounding. It could be any form of engagement between parents, children and even extended families for the purpose of preserving and strengthening family ties. Family time is not just all about having nice meals together, but it involves other activities such as game nights, vacations and outings just something that brings the family together.
You know in this our world where everyone is so busy as early as 6:00am, mum and dad are rushing to go to office while the children are in a haste to go to school as early as possible and before they get to see each other it's late in the evening already. What about some extended family that we haven't seen for weeks, month and even years so with all this hasty stuff here and there, organizing family time to create long lasting memories is definitely not a bad idea.
But then should the use of phones be banned during this special get together? One way or the other our phones is now part of our daily lives, It is use for different purposes and of course hope you know that those that don't work online also need their phones close to them cause of emergency cases. No one knows what will happen the next minute so your phone by your side can help save a stich in time. To tell how people are so obsessed with their phone is something else entirely. Some times back, a colleague of mine bought a new iPhone X and the next day when coming to work she had an accident though she didn't sustain much injuries, just little scratches but her screen phone shattered. When she came to work we were happy she was saved but then she said she wished her phone was saved and she get injured in place of the phone.🙄 Funny to hear right? But she was Damm serious about it and completely lost her peace but that's how we are engrossed with our device.
Now back to our dicuss, left for me I will say it should be 95% away from phones and 5% use of phones and here is why. During special family bondings there is this joy that sets on the faces of every one and such moments needs to be captured by taking photographs with our mobile phones. That photos helps bring back good memories and the love felt during the bond. But should incase there is a camera aside mobile phone then phones should be banned since there is an alternative to capture the moment. Aside the use of taking photos, mobile device should be totally banned because it is just another distraction on its own. For a Tiktoker, you leave her with her phone during meal time sorry to say she will end up not giving attention to anybody instead she would be busy creating content and bounding with her online Fams. What about a business man, when it's time to cheers 🥂 and a business call comes in sorry to say an igbo man will definitely leave that cheers and attend to his business after all is it not money that's use to organize get together he will say. 🤣 So to avoid all the distractions, the use of phones during family time should be totally banned thank you.
