While technology has provided us with many benefits, it also has many disadvantages. In the beginning we thought that technology has made our life very easy because everything is done in seconds and a lot of problems are solved but overuse of anything that benefits us also harms us.
With digital media, we keep abreast of news from around the world. We can sit in our own country and know the situation of any country and this is a very positive thing but sometimes due to this we also get to hear a lot of news which is based on lies. Looking at the media, it has become very difficult to believe which news is true and which is fake, so we don't believe any news unless we do proper research.
A similar incident happened to me. A very close friend of mine went on a Hungarian scholarship to study after 12th. She was the first of all our friends to go abroad to study and for this we had to convince her family very hard because her family was not willing to send her alone. Everyone is afraid in view of the current situation that something might happen to their children but after many efforts we sent her to study on a scholarship.
We friends assured her family that she will not do anything wrong and will return to her country soon after her studies. Everything was going well and she was in constant touch with her family and I spoke to her almost every day. Since things were very difficult in the beginning, she used to take advise from me on everything.
One day she didn't call, so I thought she might be busy. I called her myself but her number was getting disconnected. I immediately called her family that she might have told them something but they were also unaware. We all got very confused why her number is blocked and why she is not in contact with us.
From day one my friend's family and I were very scared because now she doesn't know many people there and I didn't even know any of her friends. Now I didn't understand how to contact her, so I messaged a friend of hers on Instagram and asked her how Daniya is and where she is. She said in our hostel, Drugs were found in the girl's hostel and team handed over her to the police. After saying this, she stopped talking to me.
It felt as if the ground had fallen out from under my feet. I was sure that she could not do such a thing, but I felt that some girl must have done such a thing to her. I was too afraid to tell her family that they would be too upset, so I didn't tell them and waited for her to contact me on her own.
I tried so hard to get back in touch with this friend of her but I never got back in touch with her. That's how the whole day passed and I was in a very bad mood because if such an incident happened to her, her entire career would be destroyed and then she wouldn't even be able to study further.
Well, the whole day passed in worry and I kept reassuring her family that everything is fine. I have spoken to her personally. Finally after many hours I got a message from Dania and she said that her phone was broken due to which she could not contact her at home but she is perfectly fine and that day I realized how quickly false news can spread. Do not believe the news that is spreading.
I was very responsible and didn't bother her family about it and everything went well in the end, so this was my experience with fake news which was very bad.
