This is my report for the newbies initiative week 3, the meeting started at exactly 8 pm on Sunday 26th of May, the tutor for the day was @vickoly and the topic he treated was hive security and guidelines, he explained extensively on how to maintain hive keys.
What is a hive without our keys? Hive keys are very essential on hive, each key has its functions and the best way to keep it safe from hackers, there are five keys on hive we have the active keys, memo keys, posting keys, owner keys, and the master keys.
Master Key:- This is the key that is used to recover all keys, generate old keys, and recover an account on hive.
Owner's Key:- This is used for resetting an account and also recover an account. From owners key you can generate master key
Active Key:- This is the key that is the most useful key in hive, it entails all the transactions on hive without the key nothing can be done on your account, this is used to transfer Hive tokens, power up, withdrawals, vote for witnesses and so on.
Posting key:- as the name implies, it is used for posting on the hive, though you can use this in another aspect like logging in to another frontend, but the active key is the major key that can function for both on hive.
Also, he spoke on how to recover a lost account on Hive, how to change your keys if tampered with, and advice to have a trustee account, Who is a trustee, one could ask first? It is someone you trust because the word itself says it all, a trustee account is someone you have put in charge of recovering your account and who can help you if something goes wrong. It could even be a friend, but keep in mind that this person needs to be someone you can easily get in touch with and trust.
I have nine members in my team and seven of them responded to the task very well, I will try and check on the eighth person because she is not someone who could neglect the task, she responded well to the first and second tasks, I read all the posts and commended them for a work well done, I know they understood the assignment because I found joy in reading each post, and my team members are the best when it comes to carrying out task, they are always responding to each task without any delay.

My team members are the best, they are a source of motivation, and they always make me happy by not relenting and making me proud, I know they really mean business about hive and this is the starting point, relenting is never in our dictionary so we are soaring high like an eagle, team 2 is making me proud and I wish you a stress-free journey on hive.
