This is another wonderful Sunday, happy Sunday to you all, today I will be showing us how I prepare this soup which is black soup, this soup is made from moringa leaves and we all know the health benefits of moringa.
According to my research moringa lowers cholesterol and reduces the formation of plaque in arteries, it also helps people with diabetes to regulate their blood glucose levels, moringa has many benefits we can talk of it, it has seeds that can be costume and the leaves can be used for tea.
I learned about this soup from my mother and I was lucky that my neighbor gave me these leaves two days ago so I preserved it in my refrigerator.
This soup is very easy to prepare and doesn't take time at all, it has its way of knowing when the soup is fully ready for consumption.
INGREDIENTS USED
Moringa leaves
Tumeric
Scent leaves
Ginger
Locust beans
Pepper
Fish or any type of protein.
Crayfish
Red oil.
Step one is prepping the ingredients:-
Remove the leaves from the stalk and rinse thoroughly, then set it aside.
Peel your turmeric as well then rinse it and set it aside.
The second step is blending:- We need to blend these leaves into a paste before we can use it, I transferred the moringa leaves into my blender, and added the pepper at this point I forgot to get my scent leaves from the market so I skipped the use of scent leaves though this step is optional, this won't have any effect on the soup. I added my turmeric and ginger and blended everything together.
Step three is cooking:- After getting the paste, I then transferred the mixture into my cooking pan, I added red oil and seasoning cubes, locust beans and covered it to cook for some minutes before adding my protein, I used chicken for this soup, this soup doesn't need too many proteins in it, it should be minimal.
This soup will change color when it is done and the oil will be floating on it, this is when to know that the soup is ready, this soup can be paired with any type of swallow, be it fufu, semo, wheat and so on, I paired mine with wheat and it was so good.
It is not all be time we eat fries or other soups that only satisfy our hunger, let's learn how to eat the ones that will benefit our body and repair the body. I hope this video will be helpful for anyone who would love to try it out.
