Scenario 1
You're playing a game where you pass a ball to your friends. Each time someone catches it, they pass it to someone else. And it keeps going like that. The idea is to keep the ball moving. passing it from one person to another. Making sure nobody drops it.
Scenario 2
One day, You help someone poor on the road. You dont know them and they dont know you. But why you helped them? because you knew that someone had to, right? But because of this sudden act of kindness, the receiver became so happy. at some point later in life they also thought to help someone in the same way.
Merging Both Scenarios
Now think again about scenario 1. But this time replace the ball with acts of kindness. What if we passed along good deeds, along with making sure they never stopped? That's the essence of our thoughtful reflection today, "Don't Break The Chain."
We can think Acts of kindness like the ball in our game. When we do something nice for someone, it makes them feel good inside. And when they do something nice for someone else, it keeps the good feelings going. This is because kindness has a powerful effect on us.
Why is being kind so important?
Well, you can imagin if everyone in your neighborhood started doing nice things for each other. It wouldn't take long before everyone felt happy. This is because kindness helps build strong friendships and makes our communities better.
And the best part of this whole thing is kindness doesn't just affect the people you do nice things for. It also affects YOU. When you help someone else, you feel good too. Your heart feels lighter, and you might even start coming up with more ideas for being kind.
One day long ago I was walking home from school feeling a bit down because my grades werent that good. so I was expecting a bad home from my parents when I walk inside my house. As I turned the corner onto my street I saw my neighbor Mrs. Rahman standing outside her house. She noticed me looking upset and called me over.
Mrs. Rahman asked me how I was doing and why I looked so sad. I told her about my grades, and she immediately offered to talk to my parents. She said she knew a little bit about this. Her offer surprised me; I hadn't expected anyone help me with something like this.
Before I knew it, I was feeling much better. Not just because my parents might understand, but because I was understood by someone who cared to help me out.
From that moment forward I made a promise to myself to always be kind to others just like Mrs. Rahman had been to me.
The story I've shared wth you today shous the power of kindness and the importance of not breaking the chain. In reflekting on the power of kindness Im reminded of the quote by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe “Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together.”
So what do you think? Shouldn't we show random acts of kindness? What will you do to make sure that you're being as kind as you can at all points in time? I also invite you to the conversation.
