When you're lost

If you keep failing, it may feel like you're not trying. Or that you don't have the right stuff to succeed. But when you look deeper, you'll see that it's only because you haven't found the right way yet. Here are five things we failed at that others succeeded with...

You're not speaking to the right audience

You're probably wasting a lot of time building your business and writing blogs if you aren't speaking to your ideal audience. It's really as simple as that. If you're writing for other bloggers, you're writing to other bloggers. If you're writing for marketers, you're writing for other marketers. If you're writing for business owners, you're writing for other business owners. You have to figure out who you're writing to, and why. If you're not speaking to your ideal audience, you're not tapping into the exact motivation and pain points that will lead to success for them. You're not speaking to their heart or emotions. You have to speak to their head, as well.

You're not building enough content first-time visitors won't know what you do already

Your blog isn't enough. There is always a need for more content. If you don't build enough content, then your blog will be stale, and will not be relevant to the people reading your content. Building content is a skill that takes time to master. It's easy to get lost in the mechanics and forget why you're writing in the first place. Why are you blogging? What is your ideal audience? And why should they care?

You're using the wrong tool for your job and spending too much time getting it right

You've got the skills. You've got the knowledge. You've even got the tools. But you're still failing at building your business or creating the success you want. Why? You're not putting all of that effort into your tool, your business. As I said, it's easy to get lost in the mechanics of building a business. That's why it's important to step back, take a deep breath, and look at your business as a whole.

You don’t have a clear path to going out

The path to going out is to build up your audience, and then you can start sending them content. But what happens if you don't even have an audience yet? How are you going to get the word out there to build that audience? You have to have a clear path to going out if you want to build an audience. Otherwise, you'll just be going out with no audience, and that will be very hard, and possibly even impossible.

You’re lost in the abyss of internet self-help guides

Self-help guides are great, but you really need to step back and think about where you are, and why you're doing what you're doing. When you're lost in the abyss of internet self-help guides, it's very easy to get sucked into thinking that that is the truth. And that the path to success is through them. Don't let anyone convince you that success is found in internet self-help guides. Success is found through action. Success is found through hard work. Success is found through creating your ideal life, not chasing after it.
