I was not doing any work along with my studies. That's why when I used to go home from the university, my mother already to do all the housechores because she knew that I would be completely tired when I came back home in the evening. I have never done both work and study at the same time.
And I did the job when I was free from college. So I haven't had a chance to combine these two things yet.
But....
It was very brave for me to travel four hours daily to reach the university. In the beginning, when I used to travel, two things were very common in me, one was that my blood pressure would drop very quickly and the other was that my headache would not go away. Every day, when I went home, I used to go to sleep without eating due to fatigue. And I could not even focus on my studies. And I used to be overwhelmed by the daily situation.
How did I extricate myself from these entanglements? Let me tell you.
Tea is my biggest stress reliever:
When I reached the university, the first thing I used to do was go to the cafeteria. Because at that time my only support to get through the day was a hot cup of tea. I don't have a single day that I don't take tea in the morning. My headache goes away only with tea. And now I'm so addicted to tea that I can't skip it throughout my day.
Spending time with plants:
I had Saturday and Sunday off from university so these two were the only days I spent more than half of my day on the lawn. Watering the plants and walking barefoot on the grass was soothing. I used to take pictures of different flowers and edit them and then I would save the moment in the gallery. From which the mind and heart felt a different kind of happiness and half of the tensions would disappear by spending time with the plants.
Getting enough sleep:
In today's era, people have forgotten to sleep. People who wake up at night will not know the feeling of not getting enough sleep yet. But with the passage of time one will realize how important a night's sleep is.
It is said that if your heart is trembling due to many tensions, then you should get some sleep. This eliminates various negative thoughts in the mind. And it's natural with me that when I'm under a lot of stress, I automatically fall asleep and that's a plus point for me to fight stress.
Hair massage:
Have you ever massaged your hair? My routine was to have my mother massage my hair a few hours before my Sunday bath. This benefited me in three ways. One, I used to spend time with my mother and we used to talk a lot, and secondly, I got peace and thirdly, my hair got good growth.
And I still follow all these points to reduce my stress.
