Oh yes we are in the peak of the festive period where is characterised by so many things. One principle i would like to clearly state is that you prepare for scarcity when there's abundance. Its foolishness to throw all eggs into same basket. There is hogh risk of the basket to fall. What becomes of the eggs? Wisdom demands that you share the eggs peradventure one damaged you would be able to save others. Reverse is the case in the present world especially my locality where festive period like this is been magnifed and exalted above everything even when it can't be commensurate with one's pocket. This is quite pathetic hence I call on every to reduce spending and think of better investment.
I wrote recently on one of my social media handles whether there's any award to be given to anyone that spend so much? I have never seen any appreciation or plague or recognition for anyone that cooks or wears a good clothes etc. If these things doesn't matter then my question remains why are we killing ourselves just on what doesn't matter? Why must you force yourself to a lifestyle that is expensive and you would pay back in a difficult way. Don't live to satisfy anybody but make life very simple and according to your ability.
I would quickly like to share some tips that would enable one to manage finances especially in the times we are in. I belive these tips would go a long way to bring balance to the way some handle their resources. One thing is to be blessed by God and another thing is to have the best methodology on how to keep or sustain resources for positive output.
Have a plan. I don't like just doing things for doing sake instead one must clearly define what he wants. A man with planned schedule has capacity to eliminate lots of distraction. One thing tht makes people spend uncontrollably is hinged to lack of plan . Show me a man that manages finance very well and I will show you a man that plans. In planning, you can consisder scale of preference where you go for items that would give maximum satisfaction. The difference between Christmas and New year is just a week hence no need to spend all just because of a season. All expenses to be done in this season, have you sat and calculated the cost of things?
Be contented. Its said that godliness with contentment is a great gain. When you don't learn to appreciate what you have then certainly you would live a life of borrowing. I noticed that many families today aren't satisfied with what they have. They can do anything to maintain standard of living or competing with another person. A woman told me how that she went to the market yesterday to purchase some items for the celebration. She couldn't afford the chicken instantly instead she collected the chicken on debt so that she can pay later. This is never a good attitude at all. I don't support anyone to buy something on credit to pay back later.
- Another step is not to compare yourself with other people. We all have our individual differences therefore learn to believe in yourself and be real.
Thanks for reading through my entry for this engagement.
