I CAN'T FORGET THIS HOLIDAY.

Holidays are normally time of refreshing and regaining momentum for a better out put whereas some sees it as a time to do other task outside their main assignment. Which ever side of the coin viewed, one undisputable fact about holiday is that it creates indelible memories. I was curious to see the topic for the second edition. I logged in the discord channel several times before later the moderator posted it. Immediately I saw the topic I was like wow the fondest holiday memories? I have to quickly take a run down of thoughts because of the varied holidays I have ever had. It was easy for me to finally hinge on this particular holiday memory.

One of the holidays I can't be in haste to forget was when I was still in school pursuing my first tertiary certification in pankshin local government plateau State. Actually the school is located at the coolest part of the town where there are mountains and dam. The nature of the serene in the school makes it difficult for me to envisaged any other place whether it can match it with the beautiful things I see. I think one of the outstanding thing about holiday is that it makes one see something different from where he's coming from. Based on this I can say that I had no reason to go for any holiday. One good thing about myself is that I'm not stereotyped I can easily reconsider my motive and act in another dimension.

I saw personally the need to step out to the state capital which is called Jos. I thought I have seen, heard and touch all but not during this holiday. I can say the holiday began from the take off of my journey from the school to Jos. We encountered more than seven military check points. A journey that supposed to be less than two hours. This created an experience I won't easily forget. There is this notion I normally have concerning military personnel that they are difficult to flow with and some of them are very wicked. The reality I saw that day was different. These guys were friendly and one looked at me straight to the face and said why am I starring at him? I was mute and started fidgeting perhaps I have done something bad. He waved and was lively. Hmmm the two weeks had started. Finally I alighted at a junction to trace my way to where I would spend the holiday. When I got there, I had to wait for him for some minutes*

The first night was like an induction and impartation service for me. He warmly welcomed me and offered me something....please don't salivate oooo. After a little while, he took me out and started showing me nook and crannies of the town. Initially I thought of resting and sleeping on time but men the outing was something else. He bought my favourite local pap called "kunu geda" in Hausa accompanied with fried akara. That really dispelled cool. Later he showed me where he does his extra curricular activities like indoor games. Before we could return it was late and behold the vigilante started patrol. Men...we to change our bearing so that our part won't crossed each other. These were what constitutes the first holiday experience for me.

Through out my stay, I was able to pay visit to some places like parks etc Hmmm another place we went that excite me was the church. I learnt how to play guitar. My life was transformed positively and I made new friends what a remarkable holiday.

Thanks.

"kunu Geda", I remember that drink. Used to have an office in kaduna, so I took it sometimes. Lovely drink. And also fura. How I wish I get those drinks to buy where I am now.

Eya.... what a memory!!! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and great input

Plateau state is a very nice place for vacation, if not for the crisis, I would have said it's one of the best places in Nigeria. But it's still my favorite place anyways.

Guess, even the soldiers are catching the holiday vibes heheh. Not all of them are harsh, I have met cool ones several times.

Kunu gedu, gosh, it's been long I took that thing.
