It's a lovely Friday and the beginning of a new weekend. It's been an awesome moment all through the engagements this week. I thank God for the privilege to participate in all of them. I want to also appreciate the management of this precious community for all the innovation and initiatives inputted to ensure active participation of some of us. I keep praying that the lord will continue to bless them. For other authors, my regards to all of us.
When i stumbled into the topic for this edition, i had to take a gasp of breath because i never expected it even though is a trending thing in the world today. I had to reflect carefully before dropping this entry. Gambling or betting has been a matter existing for years now. In those days this issue hasn't gotten recognition like it is today and even the participants were mostly old people or the aged. Recently gambling and betting is gradually gripping into the fabric of most young people especially the teenagers.
The matter of gambling and betting has been a complicating issue even in most countries. I would try my possible best to see how i can drop my perspective on this subject. I may not be accurate but its my opinion anyways. Before I proceed with orher discussion, I would like to highlight some reasons that i see why people are crazy and agitating to make betting and gambling legal then later drop other reasons why it shouldn't be legalized and to draw inference with my own perspective.
There certain factors and benefits that triggers people to delve into betting and gambling which should be made legal. Let me discuss them;
- A means of economic empowerment. Many see gambling and betting as a means to build up their financial muscles. They believe that there are several means to financial freedom therefore gambling is part of the system. When one has this kind of notion, it inspires them to keep engaging into it. Therefore it should be made legal.
- Some pick betting and gambling as a means of job creation. I know of a guy that works with one of the betting company for a while now. He's paid monthly salary hence he sees it as means of job. Because of this reason, it should be legalized so that more people would get involved.
Let me quickly another school of thought on why gambling and betting should not be legalized.
- It can lead to addiction. Many youths today are addicted to this because they see it as a means to get rich or become a millionaire over night. Many of them don't work with their hands again instead they even go ahead to steal just to satisfy the craving of gambling. It shouldn't be legalized because it would cause more harm.
- Gambling and betting is a means of exploitation many used to deposit huge amount of money into it therefore it would should not be legalized.
- It creates decline in morals and negative impact on individuals therefore it shouldn't be legalized.
CONCLUSION
I would like to conclude by saying that if gambling and betting would be legalized, there's need to give good orinetation to people to educate them on how to go about it.
