Its another new edition of the engagement on this beautiful platform. The topic is like a coin that has two sides pending which one you are facing.
One car per family? Well if it's passed to law that won't be a bad idea any how ever there would be need for some restrictions or clause in order to accommodate all the social strata we have in the society. In as much as there is high rate of exchanges of toxic gases to the environment due to vehicle, generators etc we used today.
Assigning one car to a family may be a good idea at the same time might be a bad idea depending on certain factors which could be likened to established laws in the country, the economic growth of individual, capacity of a family etc. I will like to expand this for better understanding.
*God has made us with varied potential and ability to make things good for ourselves. Our priority differs based on the kind of purpose we have however getting mobility I think is a general need for everyone. If one car would be allowed for a family that is fine pending on the size of the family. In typical African setting, an average family size is eight to nine including the parents whereas some hit twenty and above depending on how many wives their father married. In such cases a single car might not serve them at all if they want to go out. For effective house runs at least three vehicles should be available. I have seen a family of such setting that have more than three vehicles in the house.
*The social class of a family matters in Africa and that's where I used to have problem with some people. A true life story of a man I visited in Jos plateau after the demise of his father. As we entered the house to pay condolences, the first things I could see in the front of the house were different brand of vehicles in fact let me say fleet of cars surrounded the entire house. I kept imaging how does he manage all these? I believe some of those vehicle can stay for months without moving. I consider this as a waste because someone out there might be in need of it. Assuming he uses all of them at the same time, Hmmm what would have become of our environment? Polluted with gases which can cause havoc to humans. I think proposing a law that would restrict some of the toxic gases but come to think of it, is it only vehicles that emits gases?
One car per family might not really solve and justify the reason why toxic substances are released into the atmosphere. I think there an advancements in most developing countries where solar vehicles aree been produced. If i may ask, what effect would solar machines and vehicle cause to the environment? I think these advancement are eco friendly therefore law may not hold its course then.
I am of the opinion that laws should be made open and each family that can afford more than one vehicle can go ahead. I think every body's opinion should be respected.
