Reviewing History: A Path of Redemption in The Past.

It has been established that every decision or choice we make affects our lives in one way and the people around us.

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
Theodore Roosevelt

The cause of history is based on the decisions the people with power made. Now, with a question like this

If you had the opportunity, would you be able to go back in time to stop a historical event from happening?

Now this historical event is not something that affects the whole world, which means you can now pick a specific event that can change the course of history that actually affects your life. It further went on to say

It could be a tragedy that sent your country on the path it currently is on today.

I am not an overthinker but a man who thinks a lot and has nothing else to think except thoughts. I have actually thought of a scenario like this even before the topic was decided. While I was thinking about it, I thought of the time when the British Empire approached the kings of our nation Nigeria, deceived them, forced them, and took everything precious to us because they were smarter and claim to be more civilized.

Why trade mirrors for the lives of thousands of your people? As I said, if I had the power to go back in time to change history, I would make sure whatever idea or trade brought by the Western world is based on fair trade because I know better and I am smarter. Why take our people to your country to develop it, even using forced labor, and then abandon our own country? The whole problem in my country started with the way we gained independence and the kind of rule that was left in place.

When independence was given to Nigeria, it wasn't given to the people the way the people thought. Yes, they all celebrated the independence in the year 1960

The bitter truth was that independence was given with a leech on it, it was given to the people who had gone to the Western country to be corrupted and then used to their own benefit, now this set of people used the people to their own benefit which is why is it very hard of us to have a good leader.

I believe if we could change the course of history when we came in contact with the Western world and we had a fair and mutual trade, the country wouldn't have been as bad as it is now.

You might think I am blaming the British for what's happening in the country Nigeria, No, I am not. The fault started with the ignorance of my people and their greed. Even when they saw how bad things were, they held onto their greed and the British also played them into believing everything that was said to them.

If that can be changed, I believe a lot of things would definitely change in the world we are currently in.

Sort:

You forgot to add, "the alien from Mars" after your name 😁

But truth o, if I could also go back in time to stop one historical event, I would stop human slave trade to the Western world.

Hahahah
I’ll remember next time
Yeah
Same here
I would stop that

Okay

The mirror trick definitely sounds funny, I have heard of it but it all began with our greed, there are some African countries that didn't allow foreign invaders and they were never colonised, countries such as Ethiopia and Liberia. We could have chosen to forsake their offer but we couldn't, though they were ignorant but the few who stood against such transactions were grouped and murdered. Even if you go back in history, you better make sure you have superpowers.

🤣🤣
You’re write about that, since I know more about them. I have counter measure to fight back
