Today, I will share the process of how to make a simple chandelier.
It is a decorative light that adds beauty to wherever it is used. It can range from small to big designs and they are quite expensive but regardless of the size, they serve the same purpose.
Let me take you through the steps of making this simple chandelier.
Materials needed.
Carton
Cardboard
Scissors
Glue
Gum
Black tape
Lamp holder
Bulb
Needle
Thread
Procedure.
- I started by measuring the carton size I needed before cutting a ruler shape out. I made more of the shape with first cut out measurement to make sure the sizes are the same.
- I cut out 21 pieces of the ruler shape
It would have been better if I just folded the carton instead of cutting it but I had to because the edges of the triangles must be sharp.
- I cut the cardboard with the cutouts of the carton and also made 21 of them.
- I covered the face of the carton with the cardboard by applying gum, I could have left it ordinarily but I just wanted it to look colorful.
- I used the black tape to make a stripe but just one line.
- I joined the pieces together with glue to form a triangle
- I repeated the process for the remaining pieces until I made the seven triangles needed.
- I didn't like the edge so I put black tape at the edge of all the triangles.
- I moved on to placing the triangles on each other this way👇
- I wanted to use glue initially but there was no how they would stick together properly so I made use of thread. The thread went through the carton holes from the top.
- After running the thread through the triangles, we are close to making the chandelier.
- I made a cover for the top of the chandelier with a carton and placed a cardboard to make it look cool, the cover will be responsible for holding the triangles and the lamp holder. I punched a hole through the cover and glued it to the triangles
- I connected the wire and lamp holder... I put the wires through the hole from the inside of the chandelier.
At the point of putting the bulb, I realised that the lamp holder is pin while the bulb is screw so I had to get a screw lamp holder
- After making the correction, I put the bulb in the lamp holder.
- There is a vacant spot for the chandelier in my apartment so I connected it
