Spreading Hope and Kindness through Giving and Community Service

If there is one thing I feel the purest of joy and happiness doing, it's giving, it's still a wonder to me that this part of lifestyle is still a secret to so many as most people like to be on the receiving end, and often shy away from giving. Suppose you are one of my followers, especially my needlework blogs. In that case, you must have come across one of my many sewing blogs which aims at giving to someone, putting a smile on someone's face, especially on their special day which has become a custom for me, as someone around me would always celebrate their birthday every month.

I believe the recent one I shared is a beautiful birthday dress I made for my cousin, It was very intentional that I made her feel happy on her day despite the tragic happenings that have made her feel down and possibly lonely, losing a mum and an elder sibling within two years and the recent happening just a month to her birthday isn't an easy emotion to bear at such young age, so my sisters and I stepped up so as to make her feel happy and not sorrowful on her day, though we can't completely feel the vacuum of her mother and elder sister we will always be there for her at all times.

Community service is another special way of giving back to our society, although most people are forced to render service to their community whether as a form of punishment or when there are benefits involved, it is important for us to also participate in these community service even when there is nothing to benefit physically, Like ai stated in my introduction, the pure joy we receive doing good is incomparable to any physical reward you might think of.

My local church takes community service seriously as a way of giving back to the society from the many blessings we are blessed with, it isn't compulsory though, as members are allowed to be a part voluntarily. This event takes place twice a year, on the third and tenth month of the year, we contribute and get foodstuffs, clothing and other basic life needs which we share with the community surrounding our church's location and I never fail to be a part of the volunteers every year, while we share the good news of the word to them, the gifts follows which always end with a shock reaction from the beneficiaries, and they always be like 'Do church like this still exist in Nigeria?'

I understand why they feel that way, the economic situation of the country has made a lot of people lose hope in giving or expecting good from someone, our giving during these times inspires hope and also serves as a good example to other organizations, guess what, we don't discriminate, whether you are a Christian or Muslim, you receive the word and gifts, this act alone teaches us that we should live in peace with all men.

I'm looking forward to our next community service happening in March, as for my sewing gifts, it happens anytime. I hope this post encourages someone out there to be a giver, and remember, you don't have to own the whole world to be a giver, the small you have and give from the bottom of your heart is all you need to experience that pure joy of giving.

Thank you for reading.❤❤

Aww the dress is so beautiful and it looks really good on her.
Volunteering is not so big of a task, but it makes a lot of difference

Thank you Meya, Yes it isn't, and makes a huge difference

My church also does something similar, every three month we visit different prisons and provide them different all kinds of provisions, we call it prison ministration. It is a voluntary exercise I consider to be godly and honourable.

That is also another exceptional community service
