Reaching out with the hands of help to others about is something that is somehow going into extinction because of the economic challenge. Many will be I I have not even have enough not to talk of reserving for another. Just a little thing you will request another to do for you he or she will be just after what is my gain from this?
Few days back I was just speaking with my landlords so and my husband's nephew that's my son now, I was like I need someone who will help me out with my laundry activities even if it will take me to pay the person, both of them said I should pay them to wash for me. Well, to be sincere with you I wasn't happy with that statement because that is what they can just do with all their heart without demanding anything in return. Imagine including my son that I have to provide everything demanding I pay before he could help.
This is how far the society have gone in focusing on themselves, as many will just blame this to the economic situation of the now I will largely blame it to our state of heart which is not right at all. Engaging in free services in my community is one thing I find myself doing without expecting anything from anyone. Putting smiles in people's faces makes me happy, I don't do it so those people will return to appreciate me or even pay back. When the Bible talked about giving I didn't hear that give and the person you have to will give back to you. "But give and it shall be given to you". Some weeks back while I was walking down to my house after our Sunday service my friend called my attention to some children that I helped to provide them with school uniform and writing materials. I was like I can't even remember their faces at all, but I just knew I did something for some people which I can't even remember their numbers.
Initially i took it as a duty to Reachout to some school children once in every year during my birthday, this i did for several years before everything took another dimension. For about some years now we move as a team at least four times every year to different communities. Going to these communities we go in good number as we have some relief materials and freebies for the communants.
Engaging in this kind of community service is one that takes lots of resources, time and energy. You know when you do things that no one is there to applaud you it becomes somehow discouraging. The last outing we had was during last Christmas, feeding rhe volunteers wasn't so easy but thanks to the good heart of our supporters who took it upon themselves to provide us with some grains.
Waiting for the government to do everything for us maybe a difficult thing to do because most of them dont really care about the wellbeing of the citizens who voted them into power. The best way to have a better society is for everyone to look inwards and note those things he or ahe could do to help someone in need or even for the society. By so doing gradually we will have a better state to stay.
