Every living thing does look for one thing or the other to put in the mouth, no matter how koboless the person may seem to be. At times I just wish that there were a medication that one could take that would help reduce the level of consumption, but that has proven to be somewhat impossible. As I always say, food itself is medicine, and eating healthy is one gift we can gift ourselves rather than waiting for the doctor's drug prescription.
Before now, I realized that food tends to stay longer in the stomach, but as time progresses, one gets hungry so easily. This was always a thing of worry to me till one of our family friends came visiting, and I told her of my experience. She said something that really caught my attention, "The frequent use of chemicals by the family has spoiled the soil; that is why food gets to digest so easily.". Observing that statement critically, I tend to believe that because in days and times, people find it difficult to plant without the use of these improved chemicals.
As the technology is advancing, it sweeps across everything that has to do with man. Men are looking for more improved and simplified ways of doing things; that is why the use of these chemicals was introduced. Casting my mind back to when I was much younger, I remember that those days we farmed so well. What we did was that every year we got to farm different lands; some lands could be made to stay without being cultivated for about five years. So those years the land is left to lie fallow; it tends to recover naturally. Then we have to use little or no fertilizer for our maize, and we enjoy the natural taste. Now, it is difficult to see a farm that stays for years without being cultivated.
Because of the frequency in the cultivation of these lands, the need to make use of chemicals comes to be. The use of these chemicals is so that the yield will be improved. Left for me, seriously I will say we should go back to the formal way of farming by which the lands are left to stay for years before it's cultivation or if that proves to be so difficult because of a drastic increase in the population farmers can adopt the use of compose manure which involves the use of natural things than going to produce chemicals from the factory. It is these chemicals that have helped to spoil the soil.
They have done more harm than good, and it is in our best interest if we can do away with them. Imagine before now one could easily keep his grains in a safe place and not fear the weevils, but these days it is not possible to keep grains without a preservative. There are lots of sicknesses in our world today because most of the things we consume today are highly chemicalized, and that in its own has done more harm than good to us, so what's the point in continuing with things that we know are not doing us good?
This is my sincere thought on this topic. Thank you for reading.
