THE MAGIC TOUCH - JUST BRING IT OVER ...

in #hive-1538502 years ago

I have always admired how parents take care of their kids provide their needs protect them and all. Even forgetting the errors and careless misbehaviors the children exhibit, before i go further i must commend the efforts of these parents. Truly speaking you guys are amazing much love

I started with commending parents because of all the craziness i see around me and one case i encountered lately, although it was a plus for me but i felt for the spender (The parents)
Well let me introduce you to the Bar-tech family, he's another electrical engineer i work with. He is creative and has eyes for good taste and to top it all, he has two beautiful adorable children (Male and Female) and an awesome wife to add a little touch of complain, they can destroy gadgets for Africa but King Stan is always there to the rescue

This is one of their apple gadgets, this device is actually for their mom but you know how children can be really troublesome with what belongs to mom. Though there was a little error from the former repairer, the screen was not properly glued so it's lifting a little. Didn't make it known to them though, as it is against my rules to start correcting or condemning any technicians work. If it's possible for me to help correct, i will freely correct it but if not I'll leave it till it finally comes to my table for proper repair

That's was how i left the tab till it came to my table, one of the kid hit it very hard on the ground and it shut down. All attempt to power it on failed till i gave it a very close look, soft touch broken and still no hope of turning on and at this time the soft touch was detached from the screen itself. I did some loosing first to get an inner view, and then i discovered the power flex is broken (cut, already) that's one fault seen but the phone is still suppose to power on because i-phone products are designed to power on with or without the power control so long there is a trace of charged battery plugged to it, so i diagnosed some more...
Took out the inner screen to have a look at the panel, after thorough observation no fault found, i then proceed to readings the flex cable. After reading i confirmed it's working fine, so i did some multimeter reading and i discover a short circuit

I have no time to delay so i went straight to running it directly from the source because i don't have any similar motherboard i can take out the circuit from. After running it, i fixed the screen back and it turned on. But with a little touch of trouble (the screen light was still affected) i just sighed softly and continued with more reading, this time i found two short circuit again that could be the fault. I did another direct running and proceed to confirm in the work, this time it came up properly (hours of work though) don't let the easy explanation get you thinking it was easy for me.

After the device finished loading, there was no power button to operate or shut down the device and that was how i started another journey to repair. Did some soldering, servicing, heating, multimeter reading and line running

This came out successful but with headache in trying to fix the button back... Honestly arranging/positioning the power key alone, took me quite allot of good time but i did achieve my goal in the end. I got if fixed and working in a perfect condition

Time to gum the screen was more crazy than any other aspect, after applying screen gum, i gave it a proper binding with rubber bands so as to make it lap firmly.

I allowed it to dry for about a day of which it did and it was super firm
Tested the whole soft and it's still in good condition

After the work was completed i took it to him the next day for confirmation of which he checked the camera, flashlight charging port and every possible part at the end of the check up he first gave a big smile and hailed me

At the end of the day he paid #4,000 for my job well done, i also took that low amount because he's teaching me electrical installation else it would have be double that amount. But after this repair it didn't take him long when he called that his phone fell into the bathroom sink... I smiled when i heard the news as i see it as a means for more

From your explanation, it must have been a very tedious work. Do you do this professionally or just for the fun of it?
