As someone who aspires to go into politics one day, I believe information is very crucial to the development and stability of a nation… hehe, I'm already feeling like giving a political speech 😂. Anyway, like I was saying, information can create a civil war even if it was a tone that was used wrongly. But then again there's information, and there's the truth and between these two is a thin line called “is”. Oh yeah information is Truth. I know y'all would be wondering what I'm driving at right now, but I will indulge you to just stay with me and perhaps see things from my end. We live in a world where the truth is more than what is true, as long as there's a fact that proves it, you might not even know what is true.
For this reason I say not just the world system, but even the government works with facts and so do the people. Now this is where a lot of people might get angry with me, but I believe the truth can be hidden and buried with no one ever finding out about it in a lifetime. So let's face the fact, We only know very little information about things truly going on in our government. This is the major reason I do not engage in petty talks with my fellow citizens concerning the things going on in the nation. Another fact is that every government was elected to produce results and that is what the masses need to see. The masses for example have rights to know the procedures of how things are executed in the country, as well as see that these procedures are followed to the latter, but if the president is sick and unable to resume office for sometime till he's well the masses do not need to know.
The reason for this is because of how the mass media and local blogs might present the story and cause panic in the nation. If a president is down with fever and sat down out of dizziness, the mass media could say the president collapsed in office and send totally different information to the masses and showcase the government in a bad light. The masses do not need to know if the person in government has family issues that are affecting their jobs. We tend to forget that people in government are real people who will live a real life outside their offices. Although some of them are only in power for the money, there is always more than what meets the eyes, especially in politics. So if you ask me if the masses should know everything going on in the government, my answer is No, the government should be credited or discredited based on the physical results they have and not the internal system.

As an employee you can't say your company knows every single detail of how you get your job done, nor do the football fans know the internal details of how their team goes into the pitch and wins or loses consistently. If these scenarios I've mentioned are only credited based on facts, I believe the government should be allowed to succeed or fail without accountability on detailed information to the masses. The government can prove themselves within themselves, it only shows a system is working. But then even with all these points, one major reason for the secrecy in government information is that if the citizens know everything going on in government, that nation is exposed to invasion from other countries. The major reason for secrecy here is security.
