THE STRIVE FOR PERFECTION

As a sport lover I sometimes like to watch these athletes put their all on the pitch and in training. Artists do it too, and I must admit, it takes a lot of guts to stand before 50,000 and be professional. I get the fact that these celebs need to stay on top of their game if they want to maintain relevance in society. But then a lot of them go the extra mile by taking pills that would enhance their performance. Looking into the lives of these people the first thing I've noticed is their lives are not perfect as it looks, but for the sake of the public, they have to always put on a show in public to make it look like they got a perfect life going on. For a start some will go as far as doing live videos for the world to see that they have a perfect life and that is where they all get it wrong.

The strive for perfection is what has made a lot of these celebs go into pills. Some do it out of real life depression, and some do it because their physical strength is beginning to fail them. Either way I always ask why do it at all. Well, I am not in the position to judge because I do not know how it feels staying at the top, maybe I might even do worse if I was in their shoes. But coming to think about it, these pills usually have their side effects, but what if there were no side effects… This question I think might look like a good idea, but in my opinion a pill that gives an extra boost with no side effects already has a side effect of dependency. Before I go on about the possible side effects of these pills I would like to also state that these athletes or artists or any public figure that has a need for these pills could first try to find a way to stay relevant even though it's not in the field they are already shining.

If tomorrow a pill is created to keep them going, I'm sure the abuse rate would skyrocket to over 1000%. I mean I could become a superstar overnight with little training and more of those pills. The strive for hard work will in no time be forgotten and people will prefer to rely on pills since it gets the job done more easily. It's just like how AI is currently taking over everywhere. An invention like that could even kill the uniqueness of sports or arts in the long run. It will be like an overcrowded nitch, and a lot of talent will die. By talent I mean globally. A person who would have excelled in music effortlessly might be pushing for sports because he/she can take a pill to make them play better.

I know a lot of celebs who tried other things they had interest in that didn't work. I guess if such pills were available it would have worked and we won't get to see them shine effortlessly. Imagine a Michael Jordan shining in football instead of basketball… or imagine Messi struggling for a spot in table tennis. The world would have lost some talents without realizing. I do not buy the idea of taking pills to enhance performance as an athlete, I think it would corrupt the world even more than the way it is now. I would pity the hard workers more because they will be nothing compared to those who take pills. What would the world become when the reward for hardwork is lost?.

Taking pills to enhance performance in sport compromises the system and put the hardworking ones at a disadvantage position. I equally support every contestant doing so without enhancement drugs.
