In this post I'll be talking about my top paying hobby as my entry post to another exciting episode of hive-learners weekly prompt.
Everyone has one or more hobbies but also have a favourite hobby among all that we enjoyed the most perhaps a hobby that allow us to express ourselves in authority and at some level of mastery.
For me my top and favourite hobby is writing but then i never could have thought this same writing will turn me to my own boss.
As someone who grow up in a remote area with no permission to visit or be visited by my school mates I sure lived my teenage and formative years with my thoughts, watching TV and my guardians. This made it boring and lonely and my only resort was writing down my thoughts and wide imaginations.
Writing became my second person in our big flat, it is in it that I found companionship and mostly get carried away from my lonely life. I started by writing essays on some of my secondary school class topics like "Make hay while sunshine", "opportunity comes but ones", "Once bitten twice shy", and the likes and sometimes I engaged in writing debates and argument for or against a choice of topic.
This was mostly what I do after school or during weekends at home except for exam periods.
After my secondary education i left my guardians to the university and my writing continues. I never go three days without posting persuasive speech on my departments WhatsApp group at this stage it's no longer my hobby alone but me. It becomes the way I interact with my course mates.
I continued my writing until my final year in the university when a friend introduced me to a platform where i can write and get paid. It first sounds unreal until he showed me evidence of payments and lots of his achievements in it. I couldn't believe it😂😂
He helped me through my registration and Gig creation and boom I started receiving orders and gradually began to make money and I mean some reasonable amount of money that's sometimes beyond an entry level salary payment in most of my country public sector. Wow 😍
This was how writing turned me to my own boss and I started making a living with it and as a freelancer till this day.
Conclusion, hobbies are mostly what we find pleasure to do especially during our spare time to keep us busy or engaged but they can also become a LIFETIME main or side hustle when we have the right information on how-to as well as the right platform to tell people what we can do.
