Mental health... is not a sign of weakness, but a source of strength.
This is a publication based on the suggested topic proposed in the Hive Learners community through their discord, which on this occasion is "For Your Mental Health".
Hello dear readers and community members, today’s topic is about your mental health. I think it is very interesting to talk about this, especially nowadays in the hectic world we live in, with all the interactions and the bombardment of propaganda and commercials that we encounter daily through social media, via cell phones, and the comments we receive from people we interact with daily in our surroundings, in our neighborhood, at work. When we walk down the street and see the various billboards, we are subjected to a lot of pressure, and subliminally, we are intoxicated with all kinds of propaganda. This is obviously with the aim of creating an opinion matrix and trying to get us to acquire or consume certain products, whether it’s buying a vehicle like a Tesla or being induced to buy a detergent from a particular brand that features the image of a superhero. This is where our mental health comes into play, which is the topic of today. To tell you when was the last time or the most recent time I took care of my mental health, you will be surprised because it was very recently. In fact, every two or three days, I take care of it due to all these things I have mentioned. Besides, the stress of living a hectic life, having many responsibilities, and a large amount of financial debt creates levels of anxiety and stress, leading me to take care of my mental health. Recently, I took care of my mental health by leaving a WhatsApp group where people constantly bombarded others with news that wasn’t precisely positive, such as robberies or accidents in certain parts of the country. I originally wanted that WhatsApp news channel just to stay informed about important news, like when there would be power outages or service rationing that interested me, so I could take precautions like turning off the computer during electrical failures. However, the WhatsApp channel became misused, and people started sharing information about criminal gangs, robberies, and stressful situations in different parts of the city, causing me a lot of anxiety. Additionally, other WhatsApp groups, although not publishing such information, were very numerous, and notifications constantly bombarded my phone, affecting my mental health because the messages kept coming, and I felt compelled to check them immediately. So, I decided to delete and leave those WhatsApp groups for the sake of my mental health. Normally, when I am very stressed or feel very anxious, I take some time to relax. Regarding my content work, I leave the computer and watch TV or go out to the balcony of my apartment, which overlooks a beautiful mountain view, and I watch and listen to the birds. This distracts me and relaxes my mind, which is beneficial for my mental health. Or, I simply stop working on content creation for a week and dedicate that week solely to watching movies, YouTube series, and disconnecting from work to alleviate anxiety and achieve mental balance. Some people prefer to read, others dedicate themselves to traveling, some lift weights or go for a jog. I think all of this is important to maintain balance and mental health. We should all take this time to take care of ourselves and step away from stressful situations because having good mental health makes us more complete and better human beings.
